Post-Doc PK/PD Modeling
The Position
Join our Animal Health team in Ingelheim and contribute to the discovery and development of novel veterinary medicines through cutting-edge pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary experts, influence research strategies through quantitative insights, and deepen your scientific expertise across diverse therapeutic modalities.

Tasks & responsibilities
- One of your key responsibilities will be to contribute to the development and application of pharmacokinetic (PK) and PK/PD modeling approaches that support animal health research and development programs.
- Regarding quantitative pharmacology, you will generate, integrate, and interpret PK, biomarker, efficacy, and safety data analyses to improve scientific understanding and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Moreover, you will develop, optimize, and maintain reproducible R-based modeling workflows, analytical tools, and model libraries to strengthen quantitative pharmacology capabilities across the function.
- Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams to advance model-informed drug development strategies and provide quantitative insights throughout the product development process.
- In addition, you will contribute to scientific reports, presentations, publications, and knowledge-sharing activities, ensuring clear communication of modeling results and their impact on project decisions.
- You will build expertise in veterinary PK/PD study design, conduct, and data interpretation across species and modalities to support fit-for-purpose testing strategies and successful product development outcomes.
Requirements
- PhD in Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacometrics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related quantitative discipline.
- First experience in pharmacokinetic (PK) and PK/PD modeling, quantitative data analysis, and the interpretation of biological and pharmacological data.
- First experience with developing and applying PK and PK/PD models, including exposure-response analyses and model-informed approaches to support scientific decision-making.
- Practical experience with quantitative and pharmacometric software and programming tools such as R, Python, Phoenix NLME, Monolix, or comparable platforms, as well as data visualization and reproducible analytical workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking, scientific curiosity, and the ability to translate scientific questions into quantitative solutions, combined with the capability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English; German language skills are an advantage
