Senior Data to Analytics Specialist (Process Mining)

The position

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Data to Analytics Specialist to support the global Celonis Process Mining initiative at Boehringer Ingelheim. In this role, you will translate business use cases into technical Celonis solutions, design and develop dashboards, analyses, and Celonis Apps, and ensure high quality data models to drive measurable business value.
You will work closely with the Celonis Lead, business process owners, and data teams to bring transparency, automation, and process excellence across Order to Cash, Source to Pay, and other key processes.

Tasks & responsibilities

As a Senior Data to Analytics Specialist, you are responsible for:

  • Process Mining Development & Engineering:

    • Develop Data Models (Celonis), PQL transformations, and data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ensure robust analytical foundations.
    • Build advanced dashboards, KPIs, and analyses for process mining use cases.
    • Develop and maintain Celonis Process Intelligence Apps (Action Flows, EMS Apps, Automations).
    • Implement Action Engine signals and automations using PQL, Python and APIs.
    • Optimize performance of dashboards, data models, and queries.

  • Business Engagement:
     
    • Translate business requirements into scalable technical process mining solutions.
    • Work with process experts (Order to Cash, Accounts Payable, Travel and Expenses, etc.) to understand root causes, KPIs, and desired interventions.
    • Support ideation and prioritization of use cases using Celonis best practices.
    • Prepare solution documentation and train end users where needed.

  • Data & Integration:

    • Support the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from SAP and other systems.
    • Collaborate with IT and Data Engineering functions on data quality and pipeline reliability.
    • Ensure alignment with Boehringer Ingelheim’s data governance, security, and compliance standards.

About our future employee

You should have excellent English skills and at least 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics development, or process mining.

Additionally, we are looking for:

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in SQL (required).
    • Experience with Python for data transformations, automations, APIs, or workflow scripting.
    • Understanding of relational data modeling and ETL/ELT concepts.
    • Hands-on experience with process mining tools (such as: Celonis, SAP Signavio, Microsoft Power Automate Process Mining) is required.
    • Hands-on experience with analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) is highly beneficial.
    • Experience with Snowflake (data modeling, optimized SQL, data pipelines) and other cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
    • Experience working with SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) data structures is a strong advantage.

  • Process & Business Understanding:

    • Experience in process mining projects of at least one core business process (O2C, AP, T&E, Logistics, Master Data, etc.).
    • Ability to translate business needs into analytical logic and technical solutions.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving attitude.
    • Ability to work in an agile environment (sprints, Jira, kanban).
    • Strong communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
    • Proactive, structured, and eager to learn new technologies.
