Junior Tax Services Specialist
The position
The position holder will accompany the BI global business partners in EMEA Region in their tax declaration obligations (e.g. CIT, WHT, VAT, Tax Accounting, etc.) and specific issues within the scope of the respective country’s responsibility. As a point of contact between different organizations within Global Business Services and Corporate Tax, the position holder will gather, reconcile and validate the data required for tax filings. Further, this person will be responsible for the preparation work of tax declarations for BI entities in multiple countries (e.g., advance returns, recapitulative statements, etc.)
We offer a fixed-term position for 15 months.
We are also open to considering less experienced candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn on the job.
Tasks & responsibilities
As a Junior Tax Services Specialist, you are responsible for:
- Data gathering (i.e., for CIT, WHT, VAT, Tax Accounting, etc.) from different sources for the preparation of tax returns and other fiscal reports within the assigned countries.
- Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of all gathered data, including reconciliation and validation.
- Coordinating tax-related change activities and postings in line with the business service organization.
- Ensuring high-quality preparation of tax returns (i.e., CIT, WHT, VAT, etc.) and other fiscal reports within statutory deadlines for subsidiaries across multiple countries. This includes data evaluation, solution design (e.g., preventive and detective controls), as well as corrective actions (if necessary), documentation (e.g., tax issue files, reports, assessment notices), and archiving.
- Cooperating closely with various internal and external stakeholders (Corporate Tax function as well as other teams within GBS and globally) and handling specific questions, requirements, and/or issues within the assigned countries.
About our future employee
You should be fluent in English and be a motivated individual with at least 1 year of professional experience in a tax consulting firm or a comparable role in an internationally operating company, preferably within a shared service environment.
Additionally, we are looking for:
- Practical experience and knowledge of financial and/or tax accounting, particularly in CIT, WHT, VAT, or Tax Accounting, as well as the ability to keep up with changing regulations,
- A high affinity for systems such as MS Office (especially Excel), SAP FI, and SAP S/4HANA,
- Excellent communication and intercultural skills,
- A Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.Sc.) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Law, or a related field,
- A team player with strong analytical, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
