Health Care Affairs Manager

The position

This role focuses on developing and executing strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders to help create a favorable business environment for Boehringer Ingelheim in Poland. The position requires a strong understanding of the healthcare landscape and its impact on the pharmaceutical industry, supporting the business in shaping strategies that improve patient access to Boehringer Ingelheim medicines, both today and in the future. The role provides expert guidance on the external, legal, and healthcare environment, helping to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and support informed business decision-making. It also involves building and maintaining trusted relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.

Tasks & responsibilities

As a Health Care Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Cooperating with key external stakeholders, including governmental authorities and organizations, medical societies, and the media.
  • Cooperating with pharmaceutical industry organizations such as EU INFARMA, Izba Gospodarcza Farmacja Polska, the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), Pracodawcy RP, and others.
  • Working closely with Market Access, Public & Governmental Affairs, Patient Engagement, and Communications functions.
  • Supporting the optimal positioning of new products in the Polish market, both in the private and reimbursed sectors. Supporting market access processes for Boehringer Ingelheim products to secure their favorable position on reimbursement lists and in NHF catalogues/programs through the implementation of relevant projects and the development of compelling value arguments.
  • Providing expertise and minimizing risks associated with the external healthcare environment in Poland. Advising the General Manager and Leadership Team on new healthcare legislation to ensure awareness of key opportunities and risks, enabling informed business decisions and timely responses to anticipated changes.
  • Enhancing the reputation of Boehringer Ingelheim and proactively positioning the company as a trusted partner among Polish stakeholders.
  • Positioning the company as a committed European organization and The One Health Company through the implementation of Boehringer Ingelheim's global and regional projects in the Polish market.

About our future employee

You should have at least 6-7 years’ experience in the health care market, communication, P&R, media or marketing in pharma industry or consulting, with high interpersonal skills, ready to act in highly demanding and changeable environment.

Additionally, we are looking for:

 

  • A degree in public affairs, communication, public health, public administration or similar to those is preferable. MBA studies will be of additional value.
  • In depth understanding of healthcare policy and issues facing the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Building strong business relationships with a network of policy makers, stakeholders on health care market and politicians from health care sector.
  • Ability to prioritize work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all applicable policies and laws, especially those related to interactions with government officials.
  • Fluent English and Polish are mandatory in this role.
