Technical Manager (m/f/d) Animal Health

The Position

We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Technical Manager for Companion Animals portfolio to join our Animal Health Team, based in Vienna. In this regional role, you will be responsible for providing scientific and veterinary expertise for our customers in several countries, working primarily with distributor partners. Your focus will be on developing and implementing local technical strategies, supporting distributor teams, managing local events, and building strong relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs).

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Regional strategy alignment: Develop and implement local technical strategies for the assigned countries, ensuring consistency with overall business and regional objectives.
  • Distributor partnership and support: Act as the primary technical contact for distributor partners, providing product knowledge, training, and field support.
  • Training and capability building: Organize and deliver regular sessions for distributor sales and key account teams to maintain high levels of technical expertise.
  • Marketing and communication input: Support local marketing activities by contributing technical insights and reviewing materials for distributor markets.
  • Event and stakeholder engagement: Coordinate and participate in regional events, customer meetings, and maintains a strong KEE network for scientific exchange.

Requirements

  • Veterinary education and industry experience: Holds a veterinary degree with at least 2 years of experience in the veterinary pharma industry, private practice, or academia.
  • Technical and product expertise: Proven background in technical support, training, or product management within the animal health or veterinary sector.
  • Therapeutic knowledge: Strong understanding of diseases and treatment options relevant to the assigned product portfolio.
  • Language and digital skills: High proficiency in English; additional regional languages (e.g. Russian) are a plus. Skilled in MS Office and relevant business tools.
  • Mobility and soft skills: Excellent organizational, analytical, and presentation abilities, with willingness to travel up to 60% in the region and collaborate across cultures.

The remuneration for this position starts at EUR 78.000 gross annual target salary per year (full time). The actual salary package depends on professional experience and qualifications. We will be happy to discuss further details in person.
