Laboratory Scientist (m/f/d) Biochemical Assay Development
The position
Join our passionate team in the Biochemical Assay and Profiling Lab, part of the High Throughput Biology group in Vienna. We are dedicated to discovering innovative cancer therapies through cutting-edge biochemical profiling and automation technologies.
As a Laboratory Scientist, you will play a key role in profiling oncology research compounds using automated lab systems and pipetting robots. You’ll contribute to assay development, experiment execution, and lab automation—helping shape the future of cancer research.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Independently plan, execute, and document biochemical assay validation and profiling experiments.
- Develop, implement, validate, and perform quality control of biochemical assays.
- Operate and maintain automated lab systems and associated software.
- Support lab organization and logistics.
- Collaborate on the selection and implementation of new automation solutions with internal and external partners.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Practical experience with biochemical assays and analytical methods.
- Strong motivation, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative team spirit.
- Eagerness to learn, explore new technologies, and apply a problem-solving mindset with technical aptitude.
- Fluency in German and English (written and spoken), and proficiency in MS Office and data analysis tools.

The minimum gross annual salary for this position is € 44.063,1 per year (full-time) according to the classification in the collective bargaining agreement for the chemical industry. Depending on professional experience and qualifications, we offer an overpayment.
