Rebate Analyst - 14-month contract

The Position


Rebate Analyst – ANZ


The role is responsible for managing end‑to‑end processes for collecting, collating, and cleansing wholesaler sales data, ensuring accuracy and reliability across all rebate‑related activities. It oversees the delivery of customer rebate calculations and communications, including the review, validation, and facilitation of rebate invoice processing.


The position also supports the business through ad‑hoc analyses, reporting, and accrual‑related work, while leading the Rebate Improvement Project to identify and implement enhancements that strengthen and streamline rebate calculation processes.


Tasks & Responsibilities:


Customer Rebates & Administration:

 

  • Calculate Australia and New Zealand customer rebates using the rebate administration system (Alight)
  • Manage business approvals for rebate payments and generate upload files.
  • Finalise reporting based on rebate system output and calculations.
  • Partially own the review, validation, processing and reporting of customer rebate invoices.

 

Data Management:

 

  • Cleanse and transform Rural Reseller sales data in preparation for upload to data warehouse.
  • Collect and follow up on the timely provision of Wholesaler sales data for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Cleanse and transform Wholesaler sales data for upload to data warehouse and the rebate administration processing system (Alight)
  • Facilitate and follow up new customer mappings and new SKU mappings based on data cleansing in a timely manner



Ad-hoc responsibilities:

 

  • Perform ad-hoc analyses, reporting, and accruals support as requested.
  • Provide rebate estimates, analyses, and summaries to internal and external stakeholders as required


Rebate Improvement Projects:

 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline rebate calculation and reporting processes using PowerBI and leveraging the data warehouse.
  • Take ownership in implementing improvements, ensuring we follow best practice.
  • Support other team members in their rebate calculation improvement initiatives.


Regulatory & Organisational Requirements:

 

  • Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and others.

  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviours and immediately notify your Manager of any accidents, incidents or near misses; complete the Safety Incident Reporting (RAINE) portalx within the required time frame in accordance with the Boehringer Ingelheim reporting procedures.
  • Undertake duties in accordance with the current Boehringer Ingelheim Policies and Procedures.
  • Report non-conformance in accordance with the requirements of the Boehringer Ingelheim quality systems.


Requirements:


Minimum Education / Degree Requirements:

 

  • Accounting degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 3 years).


Essential Skills, Experience & Competencies:

 

  • Advanced knowledge of PowerBI, PowerQuery, PowerAutomate, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Trade Spend/Rebates Management in Consumer Health or FMCG experience.
  • In office attendance 3 days a week at Macquarie Park.
  • Experience in interrogating data warehouses with BI tools.
  • Experience in interrogating data warehouses with BI tools.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proven time management skills with adherence to timelines
