Stroke Care Programme Lead, HP ROPU ASKAN

THE POSITION

Head of Stroke Care Management Programme for the ANGELS Initiative in ROPU ASKAN is a pivotal strategic leadership position, charged with guiding the region’s approach to stroke care. This role is responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive strategy to streamline the stroke care pathway, ensuring that every potential patient is identified, no patient is lost, and all receive timely and effective treatment. The leader will oversee the development and operationalization of the ANGELS Initiative, aligning country teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in stroke outcomes throughout the region.

The primary purpose of this role is to drive the transformation of stroke care across ROPU ASKAN by implementing a standardized, patient-centric pathway. The leader will focus on eliminating gaps in patient identification and treatment to ensure comprehensive care coverage, establishing robust mechanisms for tracking, monitoring, and improving the patient journey from initial contact to post-treatment follow-up and Creating a culture of excellence and accountability in stroke care delivery.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Strategic
    • Share the achievements of angels and ensure outcomes are measured. Lead ASKAN angels to drive standardized, patient centric initiatives aligned with cross team.
    • Ensure alignment of country teams to strategic objectives for Angels Initiative
    • Holistic approach to stroke care, integrating efforts across teams by facilitating open communication and joint problem-solving, the leader will ensure that interventions are effective at every stage of the patient journey, from early identification to rehabilitation and long-term follow-up.
  • Driving tangible results
    • Increase thrombolysis rates
    • Lead and support countries in achievement of target number of consulted hospitals and thrombolysis rates
    • Deliver updates and show the value of angels initiative for patients and countries
    • Ensure appropriate management of budget to maintain/develop or optimize progress of ANGELS plans
  • Cross-Functional teams’ alignment for stroke strategy execution
    • Ensure angels teams are part of BI stroke cross-functional leadership, ensure that angels are involved in internal and tactical discussions when applicable.  
    • Closely work with and follow up with country teams on the implementation of operational plans
    • Provide guidance to ensure alignment of plans within the agreed ROPU goals and priorities and enhance visibility of the angels
    • Look at best practices across countries, drive synergies, identify and evaluate trends or common issues, and develop regional offerings or action plans where possible.
    • Interface with Corporate to ensure ROPU ASKAN is well represented in global initiatives and development projects
    • Ensure the ROPU strategies are aligned with key global strategic directions and that there is adequate access to global resources
    • Manage relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. international speakers, steering committee members)
    • Strategically support countries in managing partnerships with stroke organizations with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization
    • Develop partnerships with strategic organizations for stroke care improvement
  • People Leadership
    • Build an effective and capable ANGELS team committed to delivering targets, sharing information and achieving both short-term and long-term objectives
    • Provide clarity on the goals and objectives to be achieved by the team
    • Define job competencies, ensure development of skills and abilities through ongoing feedback, coaching and training/ development opportunities for ANGELS teams
  • Data transfer and clear operating model
    • Share relevant information with other areas
    • Communicate regular updates to Senior Management in a clear and precise way to facilitate information sharing and efficient decision making
    • Ensure consistency in activity and KPI reporting across countries and teams (e.g. on Excel, Veeva or Salesforce)
  • Comply with local regulations, industry and company Code of Conduct (COC)
    • Comply with all regulations regarding interactions with healthcare professionals and follow company Code of Conduct
    • Take necessary action and develop solutions / CAPA on issues in compliance
    • Be a role model in compliance with local regulations, industry and company code of conduct

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Advanced degree (Master's degree e.g., MBA, MSc, MBBS or MD) preferred.
  • More than 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Leadership skills, communication, influence, cross functional collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and interact with medical and professional community
  • Cultural understanding and ability to act sensitively
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English & overall communication skills
  • Specific product /TA experience in stroke would be a benefit
  • Ability to travel
