AH Commercial Controller, ROPU ASKAN

The Position

The AH Commercial Controller, ROPU ASKAN is responsible for supporting the ROPU ASKAN Head of AH Commercial Controlling. It acts as a Finance business partner to the Regional Operating Unit (ROPU) BU management and the commercial organization. It ensures effective partnership by providing financial and strategic guidance, financial transparency and challenging business units appropriately. 

Additionally, the role provides effective and efficient support to senior management of Finance and Animal Health (AH) in the areas of Planning, Reporting and Business Partnering, as well as Controlling and continuous improvement projects to enable the best return on investment in engagement with customers. 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Planning
    • Provide process and target guidance to Operating Units (OPU)
    • Collect, enhance & challenge planning data from OPU
    • Consolidate documentation, comments and presentation etc. for (annual)discussions
    • Update BU risk and opportunities list
  • Management Reporting and Analysis
    • Monitor, track and challenge ROPU target KPIs as well as general financial situation
    • Identify and analyze trends / deviations
    • Review and challenge OPU gross-to-net reporting
    • Perform market and business case evaluations (including operational decisions)
    • Identify focus areas, define measures and evaluate impact
    • Perform / comment (ad-hoc) analysis (e.g. revenue to expense analysis)
    • Ensure proper implementation of corporate reporting requirements
  • Financial due diligence
    • Coordinate and support evaluation of market effectiveness of programs, pricing structure, sales force structure
  • Others
    • Support contracting / business case approval
    • Coordinate and support benchmarking between OPUs
  • ROPU AH CONTROLLING
    • Alignment of financial planning and budgeting activities with corporate guidance
    • Complete, timely and accurate information that meets standard accounting rules and BI guidelines to support decision making in AH ROPU
    • Effective monitoring of ROPU and OPU financial KPIs to ensure financial stability, cashflow and balance sheet management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Accounting; an MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Controlling experience in a multi-country environment; experience in the Pharmaceutical or FMCG industry is an advantage.
  • Broad overall finance knowledge incl. accounting, tax, treasury and compliance
  • Experience with SAP and project management would be considered an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical thinking, esp. ability to understand and work on complex controlling, business and finance related topics
