Master Data Steward | Staff / Non-line manager | Data & Insight Excellence Dept., HP Operations
Basic purpose of the job
The main purpose of this Master Data Steward role is to conduct the followings in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
1. take responsibility for the entire processes of Master Data Management within the designated area to ensure data availability and quality for Human Pharma Business.
2. contribute to maintain strategy and governance of the Master Data Management.
This role requires management experience with various types of Master Data (Employee, Organization, Sales Territory etc.) including their relationships and dependencies, and the agility to quickly catch up and adapt with new requirements to enhance the dataset and distribute data to new systems. Additionally, Project Management experience to improve efficiency and introduce new solutions is required.
Accountabilities
1. Data Management of Master Data and Secondary Sales Data to ensure data availability, accuracy, and integrity to support daily business and data-driven decision-making.
Related performance indicators
1.1 Generate, maintain, and govern the following Master Data in compliance with data security/privacy-related laws and company regulations (e.g., Act on the Protection of Personal Information, Company SOPs).
- Product
- Customer (HCPs & HCOs with relevant attributes such as target, specialty, and so on)
- Wholesaler
- Organization (Branch/ District/ Territory with respective Employee information) etc.
1.2 Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the quality, integrity, and availability of Master Data and Secondary Sales Data.
1.3 Ensure the Master Data quality by managing the cleansing of Master Data and attributes.
1.4 Track performance KPIs of Master Data Management to improve the operation.
1.5 Streamline the end-to-end Master Data Management process and coordinate continuous improvement of system automation and process optimization to manage data effectively and efficiently.
2. System Owner delegate of Master Data Management system (e.g., operation management, demand management, functional enhancement)

2.1 Conduct the system administration tasks according to SOPs (e.g., user account management, audit handling).
2.2 Facilitate demand management process and prioritize demands within budget from total optimization perspective. Grasp the business requirements (in business terms) and collaborate with the IT department to implement system functionalities by conducting fit and gap analysis and optimizing development and operational tasks.
2.3 Bridge local business and IT department (including IT vendors) to improve the system functions and leverage best practices.
3. Strategy and Governance development with team leader to organize roadmap, strategy, and governance policy of Master Data Management

3.1 Evolve the roadmap and strategy of Master Data Management in line with business strategies and department priorities.
3.2 Improve governance model and streamline end-to-end Master Data Management process to maximize data availability and utilization.
3.3 Closely monitor the market to introduce the potential data sets and innovative solutions to further contribute to business strategies and tactics.
4. Project Management to maximize the value of Master Data and realize company strategies.

4.1 Determine, set, and deliver goals and objectives according to the role in the project (e.g., project manager, workstream lead)
4.2 Provide insights and consultation of Master Data to achieve project goals and objectives.
4.3 Organize project activities with close collaboration with project members and stakeholders.
5. Knowledge Management and Education activities to improve data literacy and appropriate utilization of Master Data

5.1 Maintain data definition, principle, rules, and supporting documents and keep them up to date to clarify the data definition of each Master Data and visualize their relationships and dependencies.
5.2 Plan and provide communication and trainings of Master Data to sharpen data literacy and data utilization and ensure the required rules are appropriately followed (e.g., Third-Party Utilization Application of Ultmarc).

Job Complexity
With the deep understandings of business processes of Pharma industry and standard technologies, this position requires the ability to organize the Master Data Management processes to maintain data integrity as independent worker. Under the supervision of team leader, this role requires to demonstrate the leadership to implement solutions to achieve cross-functional business demands in alignment with various stakeholders locally and globally.
Interfaces
1. Internal interfaces:
1-1. Domestic stakeholders: three business divisions, Market Access, Medical, Human Resources, Operations, and Information Technology.
1-2. Global stakeholder: Global Capability Owner of Master Data Management, Owner of each global system.
2. External interfaces:
Wholesaler (manage the Master Data and Secondary Sales data), IT vendors (supervise data management and processing), Third parties and data provider like Ultmarc (obtain data, discuss new data model)
Job Expertise
- Deep expertise and knowledge of Master Data Management and underlying techniques, including data modeling and administrative methodologies.
- Ability to spearhead a project towards Go-Live both with waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Experience of system maintenance and enhancement as business administrator.
- Excellent communication skills to drive changes across departments and bridge business team and IT team.
- Experience in working in diverse team.

Minimum Education/Degree Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Management, a related field, or equivalent experience.
