Basic purpose of the job

 

Serve as a key strategic business partner to the assigned TAs through forecasting and business analytics to drive strategic decision making of the TA and ultimately help the business deliver profitability and further growth.

 

 

Accountabilities

 

1. Manage and drive key financial process (e.g.,Outlook and Long Term Forecast planning) by working closely with TAs, FIN, HR, HP Supply and Global stakeholders.

    • Milestone management of key financial process with stakeholders (local and Global)
    • Act as a challenging partner to the TAs to ensure TA sets objective yet ambitious forecast
    • Raise and quantify potential Risks and Opportunities
    • Analyze and challenge overall and TA level P&Ls

 

2. Support the TA to drive their business performance and potential through an end-to-end approach that connects all the data pieces to deliver robust and meaningful business insight; leveraging existing and new data sources, techniques, system, and tools. 

    • Setting Key Performance Measures
    • Preparation of Monthly reporting
    • Profitability analysis (resource planning)
    • Conducting ad-hoc business analytics for the TA

 

3. Foster strong working relationships with key counterparts in CI, TA and HP Operations to ensure that all relevant information is incorporated and integrated into analyses.

Ensure that the work done in each area is optimized and aligned

 

 

Regulatory and / or Organizational Requirements

 

Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with respective applicable BI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), BI Code of Conduct, BI processes and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with BI values as well as complying with local, and where relevant international law eg Data Protection Law of Japan / GDPR EU

Primary internal interfaces:
Information exchange and dialogue with functions within Japan: Human Pharma Leadership team, TA (Marketing and Sales), Medicine, HP Operations, Supply Chain Management, Finance
Primary external interfaces: Global Forecasting team, vendors (IQVIA, ZS etc.)

  • In-depth knowledge in sales forecasting
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills to effectively work cross functionally
  • Significant analytic skills, able to clearly interpret and distill financial, scientific, clinical and commercial information and to make strategic decision
  • Japanese regulation, policy and healthcare system

Minimum Education

 

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related field

 

 

Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)

 

Knowledge:

  • Good understanding and/or experience in sales forecasting ideally within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Good understanding of pharmaceutical industry and trend of environmental changes• Good understanding of finances (P&L)
  • Good knowledge and/or experience with strategic frameworks, marketing and execution

  • Wide breadth of business acumen and understanding of marketing methods, market research and budget/forecast planning
