Customer Data Platfrom (CDP) Delivery Lead | Staff of Non-line Manager| IT Marketing & Sales Japan,

About Us:

· At Boehringer Ingelheim, we’re building modern customer data capabilities that power personalized, meaningful interactions across marketing, sales, and service.

· Our Customer Data Platform (CDP) ecosystem integrates data from global markets to create a single, trusted customer view that fuels AI‑driven insights and enables use cases such as segmentation, automation, and Next Best Action (NBA).

· Our platforms include Treasure Data and Salesforce Data Cloud.

The Opportunity:

· As the CDP Platform Delivery Lead, you bridge technical execution and solution delivery across our global CDP ecosystem.

· You work hands‑on across data ingestion, pipelines, and quality engineering.

· You collaborate with business teams to shape requirements, design solutions, and guide them from idea to production.

· You partner closely with the existing Solution Architect while owning delivery details for specific use cases and data products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design & Requirements (Business Collaboration)

· Translate business objectives into clear, testable technical requirements and acceptance criteria.

· Facilitate discovery and design workshops; capture data contracts, success metrics, and SLAs.

· Design solution and data‑flow diagrams across source systems → CDP → activation destinations.

· Consult on scope refinement, feasibility, and iterative delivery planning.

  • Hands‑on Engineering, Ingestion & Quality

· Build, enhance, and operate data ingestion pipelines (batch + streaming) into the CDP ecosystem.

· Develop and maintain automated data quality checks across ingestion and transformation layers.

· Use SQL for profiling and validation; use Python for test automation and data fixtures.

· Validate business logic, segment rules, identity resolution, and cross‑system integrations.

· Partner with Data Engineers to shift‑left quality and standardize ingestion datasets.

  • Observability, Reliability & SLAs

· Track data freshness, test coverage, and SLAs.

· Drive issue surfacing, triage, and root‑cause analysis.

  • Governance, Privacy & Compliance

· Embed consent models, PII handling, and traceability into solution designs and validations.

  • Stakeholder Enablement

· Document patterns, playbooks, and runbooks.

· Enable teams through demos, training, and knowledge sharing.

  • How You’ll Work

· Partner closely with Data Engineers, the Solution Architect, Product/Marketing, and Analytics.

· Work across ingestion, quality automation, solution design, and requirement refinement.

· Typical allocation: ~35–40% solution design & stakeholder work, ~40% engineering & automation, ~20% governance/enablement.

  • Success Measures

· Higher trust in customer 360 data and reduced data defects.

· Faster, safer releases through automation and clear acceptance criteria.

· Business value realized through timely use‑case launches with measurable impact.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must‑Have (Core Fundamentals)

· Strong SQL and Python for building and validating data workflows; please share code or samples where possible.

· Hands‑on experience (~3+ years or equivalent) operating ingestion pipelines (batch or streaming) and delivering reliable data to downstream systems.

· Ability to translate business needs into technical deliverables (user stories, acceptance criteria, simple data‑flow diagrams).

· Data quality and reliability basics: checks/monitoring, troubleshooting/triage, and privacy awareness (consent & PII).

  • Nice‑to‑Have (You Can Learn This Here)

· Any CDP exposure (e.g., Treasure Data, Salesforce Data Cloud) and activation patterns.

· Identity resolution/segmentation; integrations to destinations like Salesforce Marketing Cloud or CRM.

· Git‑based CI/CD, orchestration (Airflow/dbt), containers (Docker).

· APIs (REST/GraphQL), JSON/Parquet, CDC; observability for SLAs.

Experience & Language

· 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent practical proof; we value skill and impact over titles or tenure.
