The Opportunity

 

We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic professional to join Boehringer Ingelheim as the Crisis & Risk Manager Japan, based in Tokyo. 


This important role takes responsible for ensuring the Crisis Preparedness of our people, assets, and operations in Japan. Based on globally defined concept- and process standards, you implement, train and continuous update our Crisis- and Security Management processes in our offices, operations sites and remote sales sites across Japan.

 

Together with the Country Crisis Manager, you implement and operate the country wide Crisis- and Security Management setup in our organization. You co-lead the Crisis Management Team Japan, so that you interact with Senior Management Stakeholders on a day-by-day basis. You have the chance to be part of a strong global network, along with local management exposure early on. You frequently interact with global governance functions, to ensure that global standards are understood, and local Japanese requirements are considered.

 

You manage country wide Crisis- and Security Programs. You plan and conduct training session for the different target audiences in our work force. You detect support- or decision-making needs and address these to Senior Management in an adequate manner. You drive the analysis and solution development for complex problems in your area of responsibility, based on your proven track record in Project Management (or similar) in an international industry context.

Crisis situations may come unexpected and anytime. This role requires some flexibility to adjust working patterns in case serious Crisis Situations occur.

 

Role & Responsibilities


Country Crisis- and Security Management Leadership:

  • Manage the Crisis- and Security Management framework at Boehringer Ingelheim Japan, including crisis response, site security, supply chain security, information protection, travel security, and event security.
  • Ensure understanding of defined corporate standards, discuss the need for country-specific adjustment with Global Governance Functions, drive decision making
  • Document aligned processes, define training / qualification concept and implement accordingly
  • Ensure continuous review, enhancement, and re-training as needed
  • Provide strategic guidance to local and global decision-makers, aligning security goals with organizational priorities.

 

Risk Management & Crisis Response:

 

  • Co-lead the country Crisis Management Team. Coordinate and conduct the country-wide activities to ensure crisis preparedness, including training, risk assessments and response plan
  • Respond effectively to security incidents and crises, maintaining business continuity and safeguarding personnel and assets.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments, ensuring situational awareness and proactive mitigation measures.

 

Community Lead:

 

  • Lead & coordinate Local Crisis and Security initiatives in our sites in Japan with our Global Headquarter Functions
  • Ensure continuous training and further development of our Local Security Managers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in security practices.
  • Implementation global Crisis Management- and Security Strategies in Japan, ensuring compliance to local regulations and global standards


Stakeholder Management:

 

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships with internal stakeholders (HR, Legal, Business, IT, etc.) and external entities (governmental bodies, law enforcement, security associations)
  • Co-steer Senior Management discussions and decision making, for example in the Crisis Management Team
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Local Senior Management team, ensure that expectations are understood and managed continuously
