AH Forecasting & Market analytics lead | Non-line Manager | Commercial Excellence Dept.

Basic Purpose of the job

Forecasting & Market analytics Lead works closely with the Commercial teams and related functions to develop market forecasts, KPIs, and enhance effectiveness as a member of Commercial Excellence Department

 

Accountabilities

  1. Manage and drive forecasting end to end process by coordinating marketing, sales, SCM and Finance.
    • Consolidate data from multiple sources and organize them consistent Apple-to-Apple views.
  2. Develop short-term and long-term forecast models and maintain up-to-date models that reflect current data, information (i.e. CEESA, Fujikeizai etc.) and assumptions.  
    • Design and monitor KPIs, visualize and quantify future gap to achieve yearly budget and LTF(Long term forecast).
    • Discover high-level insights from limited information to contribute rolling forecast and business decision-making.
  3. Ensure the sell-in forecast is consistently updated and maintained with high forecast accuracy as forecast power user (Global CE role).
    • Forecast performance according to global direction.(i.e.forecast accuracy, forecast bias)
    • Ensure an appropriate operational system around the forecasting system(JDA).
  4. Foster strong working relationships with key counterparts in commercial teams, SCM and Finance to ensure that all relevant information is incorporated and integrated into analysis. Ensure that the work done in each areas is optimized and aligned.
    • Minimization of duplicate work across functions.
    • Feedback from stakeholders 

 

Regulatory and / or Organisational Requirements

 

  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with respective applicable BI Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), BI Code of Conduct, BI processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with Boehringer Ingelheim values as well as complying with local, and where relevant international law.

  • The ability to find high-level insights from limited data and information for high-quality decision-making.
  • Organize and integrate the views of multiple stakeholders into quantitative indicators.

 

Interfaces

 

  • Commercial team (Business Segment Head, Head of Sales and Marketing, Managers of Sales and Marketing),Finance and CSCM.
  • Global CE team and related functions.

  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills to effectively work cross functionally.
  • Provide strong Departmental leadership and vision, guiding members through complex TA organization while maintaining a positive working relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Significant analytic skills, able to clearly interpret and distill financial, scientific, clinical and commercial information and to make strategic decision.

  • To contribute to high-quality decision-making by providing insight and creating product and market forecasts through appropriately collecting and analyzing market data.
  • As a point of contact for global CE role, contribute to the achievement of R/OPU goals through collaboration with global colleagues and coordination with local stakeholders.

 

Minimum Education/Degree Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Required Capabilities (Skills, Experience, Competencies)

 

  1. Must have
    • Strong analytical skills and logical thinking
    • A strong personal drive, sense of urgency, ability to work under pressure, timeline awareness and ability to meet tight deadlines
    • An awareness and acumen for working amongst different cultures.
    • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word...), tableau and database applications.
    • Understand global strategy and initiative and implement locally
    • Native Fluent Japanese
  2. Preferred
    • Business level English (ideally TOEIC score of 730 or above)
    • Experience in human health care, pharmaceutical industry, animal health industry
    • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, supply chain and marketing functions
