Job Responsibilities:
- Lead Chinese BD&L External Innovation on Pets Thera Product.
- Being accountable for end-to-end process including identification, prioritization, and champion of partnerships, transactions to enable access to external opportunities, such as technologies, product candidates and products to complement the internal global and local product pipeline and product portfolio, to support the BIAH strategy.
- Together with the GI leadership team to ensure growth of BIAH's portfolio. Shape and increase BIAH's visibility and develop the outside image of Boehringer Ingelheim as a partner of choice in particular in China. 
- Execute the Licensing Investment and Strategic Partnering Strategy by developing networks with biotech CEOs, key opinion leaders, venture capital firms and financial institutions. Develop a global presence in Strategic Partnering/Licensing for BI AH at key partnering meetings.
- Prioritize external opportunities by leading Advisory/Opportunity Teams with representation from key stakeholders, including research, clinical, pipeline marketing. Act as champion of prioritized opportunities throughout the whole evaluation and negotiation up to deal signature.

 

Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Animal Health, Human Pharma or life science related fields. PhD degree is a must, DVM preferred, MBA education is a plus.
- More than 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry in life therapeutic products related functions or TAs(Oncology, OA & Pain,Dermatology, Renal & Urinary, Cardiology etc).
- More than 3 years in scientific project management or business development or alliance management.
- Special knowledge in life therapeutic fields, preferably in Animal Health Pets Thera. 
- Negotiation skills with internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated set of skills including strategic thinking, implementation of strategic plans, prioritization and budget management.
- Strong scientific credentials are an imperative. Must be conversant in the fundamental scientific concepts of the AH Innovation Division focus areas.
- High energy level questioning and challenging mind set capable of distilling large data sets to make recommendation with regard to investments in targets, clinical medicines and marketed products.
- Excellent project management skills and problem solving ability is essential.
- Proactive style required to represent BIAH in many public venues, but also a team player and supportive of others within the BD&L team.
-Requires the familiarity and understanding of patents and legal concepts in contracts as well as understanding their implications in the context of an in-license.
- Good written and spoken English and Chinese.
