HR Business Partner (Contractor)

THE POSITION

Serve as the primary HR partner for the Korea organization, accountable for end‑to‑end HR partnering and execution in alignment with the global HR strategy and local/regional guidelines. Drive organizational capability, culture, and people outcomes that enable business performance.

This position is contractor position. (April 2026 – Jan 2027)

 

 

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Business Partnering

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for Korea, accountable for all HR-related elements and coordination in alignment with the global HR strategy as well as local and regional guidelines.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Partner closely with business leaders to ensure HR initiatives support organizational goals and drive business performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to embed HR strategies into daily operations and long-term planning.
  • Foster a culture focused on people development, employee engagement, and continuous growth.
  • Maintain and report updated employee headcount, providing regular insights to support workforce planning.
  • Provide personnel cost analysis, supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Ensure HR organizational processes are well-established and continuously improved.
  • Support the development of organizational capabilities by enhancing skill sets and guiding desirable people behaviors.

 

Talent Acquisition & Management

  • Lead end-to-end hiring for open positions, including collaboration with hiring managers and Shared Services recruiting teams.
  • Conduct interviews, manage offer processes, and oversee a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Monitor and report HR metrics—recruitment status—on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Implement talent development plans and manage succession planning to support organizational capability building.
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, performance, and retention.

 

Compensation & Benefits (C&B)

  • Ensure regional compensation policies are effectively implemented in Korea, adapting to local requirements where appropriate.
  • Execute HR initiatives that maintain compensation competitiveness in the market (e.g., market benchmarking, salary review cycles, merit/bonus processes, benefits optimization).
  • Partner with department heads to discuss performance outcomes and ensure the fairness and competitiveness of reward decisions.
  • Administer and oversee the annual leave system, ensuring legal compliance operations.
  • Ensure adherence and consistent application of HR policies and programs across the business.

 

Organizational Health, Culture & Workforce Engagement

  • Regularly analyze organizational health and employee engagement results (e.g., surveys) and translate insights into actionable plans linked to business outcomes.
  • Create an environment that enables high employee satisfaction, wellbeing, and productivity.

 

 

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

  • Minimum 7 years of total HR experience (with + 3 years of experience as an HR Business Partner preferred)
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification required.
  • Native Korean speaker with businesslevel English proficiency preferred.
  • Must be eligible for overseas travel without restrictions.
