Tasks and responsibilities:

  • You are working in an agile development team consisting of different colleagues from IT and IU businesses which focuses on the further development of their LIMS system.
  • You  coordinate the software development activities as technical lead with your technical and architectural expertise as well as your knowledge around GxP lifecycle documentation.
  • You actively drive the transformation from waterfall development to agile methods while specifically focusing on technical aspects.
  • Based on this you identify potential efficiency and effectiveness gains by applying DevOps methods (e.g. deployment-, test- and documentation automation) and drive their realization.
  • Furthermore, you will act as technical coordinator with and between external partners which are supporting BI in software development tasks as well as operational and run tasks. 
  • You consult Scrum Master and Validation Manager in Agile Development processes while acknowledging given borders (e.g. GxP).
  • You share your experiences in the area of DevOps and automation with the community, provide support for the realization and suggest best practices.

Requirements :

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Natural Science or Bachelor’s degree with multiple years of proven working experience
  • Long term years of professional IT experience, including several years in a complex international IT environment
  • Several years of experience in LIMS systems and the related system architecture (preferably LabWare LIMS)
  • Several years of experience in agile development methodologies, DevOps and automation tools
  • Experience in database technologies, data querying and computer system validation
  • Deep knowledge about new technologies and trends in the IT sector and understanding of their potential 
  • Knowledge on the Analytical & Process Drug Development in specific is helpful
  • Co-operative and responsible working style
  • Agile mindset driven by openness, respect and continuous learning
  • Excellent communication skills in English on a professional level (verbal and written)
  • As Senior System Engineer you also cover the following competencies:
    • Long term years of professional IT experience, including several years in a complex international IT environment
    • Several years of experience in agile development methodologies, DevOps and automation tools
    • Deep knowledge about new technologies and trends in the IT sector and understanding of their potential
  • The Tech Stack:
    • LabWare LIMS
    • ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook)
    • Chromatography application
    • RESTful APIs
    • Postgres
    • Atlassian stack and other DevOps technologies
