Would you like to start your professional career in the Pharmaceutical Industry and become part of our talent community?
If you are in your final year of your University Degree or pursuing a Master's/Postgraduate in areas such as Health Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, Communication, Information Technology, or similar, and you are interested in starting your internship in September 2026, this is your opportunity!
At Boehringer Ingelheim, we are launching the new edition of our 2026 Internship Program, aimed at individuals with enthusiasm, a desire to learn, and a willingness to contribute to our purpose: improving the lives of present and future generations.
The Central Data & AI Governance Platform team is responsible for developing and evolving the central platform that helps the company organize, govern, and make data and artificial intelligence assets accessible in a secure, traceable, and reusable way across the organization. The team builds the technical capabilities that support activities such as data cataloging, metadata management, governance rule implementation, traceability across systems, and integration with corporate tools, so that teams can work with trusted and well-governed information.
As a Software Developer Engineer Intern, you will learn how to design, develop, and improve software components that support a central data and AI governance platform. You will gain hands-on experience in implementing new functionalities, connecting services and applications, working with metadata structures, and applying software engineering best practices for code quality, testing, and maintainability. You will also work closely with technical and functional experts who will guide you throughout your learning journey, helping you understand the purpose behind each development, build confidence step by step, and gain practical insight into how a central enterprise platform for data and AI governance is built and maintained.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- You will learn how a central data and AI governance platform is built and maintained, exploring how software components support capabilities such as metadata management, data cataloging, traceability, and integration with corporate systems.
- You will collaborate with software engineers and platform specialists to develop and improve features, helping to implement code changes, test functionalities, and document technical solutions in a clear and structured way.
- You will support the integration of services and applications connected to the platform, gaining practical experience in how different systems exchange information and how metadata is managed across tools.
- You will explore development best practices by working on code quality, testing, debugging, and maintainability, learning how to write reliable software in a structured enterprise environment.
- You will help analyze functional and technical needs in the platform context, understanding how business and governance requirements are translated into software developments and platform improvements.
- You will develop your skills in technical documentation, solution design discussions, and team collaboration, receiving close guidance from experienced professionals who will support your learning and progressive growth.
