Internship Program - Data Analytics & IA

At Boehringer Ingelheim, we are launching the new edition of our 2026 Internship Program, aimed at individuals with enthusiasm, a desire to learn, and a willingness to contribute to our purpose: improving the lives of present and future generations.

We are looking for the following three positions:

 

1. DATA PLATFORMS

The trainee will support data platform operations and optimization, focusing on Snowflake and AWS services. Key tasks include assisting in the development of ELT pipelines for data ingestion and processing, helping manage the Snowflake Data Warehouse, learning cloud infrastructure and security practices (RBAC, IAM), and contributing to automation through Python scripting. The role requires basic knowledge of SQL, Python, data modeling, and version control (Git), along with strong analytical skills, eagerness to learn, and the ability to collaborate in Agile environments.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Assist in designing and maintaining ELT pipelines for data ingestion and processing in Snowflake.
  • Support the administration of the Snowflake platform (virtual warehouses, roles, permissions).
  • Learn and work with AWS services (S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda) for integration with Snowflake.
  • Implement security and governance policies (RBAC, IAM).
  • Contribute to automation scripts and basic infrastructure tasks using Python and IaC tools.
  • Participate in data modeling projects and use version control tools (Git).

 

2. APPLICATION & CLOUD INTEGRATION, AI BOT DEVELOPMENT 

This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a team of experienced architects to design innovative integration solutions, gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies, and contribute to real-world projects. 

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in application integration and cloud integration, learning how modern systems communicate and scale. You’ll also explore the exciting world of AI, contributing to the design and creation of intelligent bots that enhance business processes.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on real-world projects.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for integration processes and solutions.
  • Support the development and testing of AI bots for internal and external use cases.
  • Engage in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Gain hands-on experience in automating and streamlining our development and deployment processes.

 

3. DATA ANALYTICS ENGINEER 

As a Software Automation Testing Trainee, you will join the Enterprise Knowledge Graph team within Platform Engineering. This team designs and develops a data platform built on AWS Cloud, enabling data discovery and accelerating digital solutions for Data Scientists, Engineers, and Analysts.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Join Scrum ceremonies and team meetings (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives).
  • Check in with your mentor to review progress and ask questions.
  • Review documentation on system architecture, data flows, and ETL processes.
  • Assist in building and maintaining ETL workflows.
  • Support data modeling tasks (tables and schemas for the warehouse).
  • Shadow senior engineers for bug fixing and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews to learn best practices.
  • Attend internal training sessions on tools like Snowflake, Airflow, and AWS.
  • Document learnings and update system documentation.
  • Share progress updates with your mentor or team lead.

 

What kind of profile are we looking for?

  • Education: Student in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications, Statistics, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Will be valued:
    • Understanding of programming (e.g., Python, Java) and interest in working with APIs.
    • Familiarity with databases (SQL), APIs, or cloud services.
    • Frameworks and automation tools.
    • Integrating data from tools like GitHub, Jira, or SonarQube.
    • Knowledge of a programming language and/or databases.
    • Interest in the world of software development, Cloud, and Big Data.
  • Languages: High level of English, all communication will be in English.
  • Skills: Eager to learn and grow in a collaborative, agile environment, creative and curious about solving problems with technology, proactive, detail-oriented, and open to feedback.
  • Availability: Start date February 6th, 2026, with the possibility to sign a university internship agreement for approximately 12 months.
