Head of IT Marketing & Sales (Salesforce.com COE)

The Head of IT M&S Salesforce CoE will lead the strategy and technical delivery of the salesforce.com platform at Boehringer Ingelheim. As leader of the organization you will partner closely across ITMS and the wider organization, responsible for delivering business impact through the use of Salesforce.com technologies.

 

You will be accountable and responsible for the strategic direction and overall value delivery of the Salesforce.com platform in Boehringer Ingelheim. You will partner with IT leaders to establish and identify innovation and benefit areas across IT where salesforce.com can innovate and deliver greater value.

 

You will identify and execute transformation and new ways of working to improve the performance and delivery of the platform and team, establish the budget, and define jointly with your team the roadmap priorities with the IT partners and global business leaders, measuring value, and ensuring the operational excellence for your capability area.  

 

The expectations of compliance, talent management, performance, stability and cost efficiency of all IT processes and IT services related to area of responsibility are priorities to maintain in the work managed within the team. As head of the organization, you will set direction and act as escalation point with stakeholders across IT areas, Animal Health, Human Pharma, and other cross-functional partners as relevant. 

 

This functional area global leader will also be responsible as follows:

  • Leads the organization to grow into a more agile and adaptive mindset and culture to deliver business value faster to our patients. 
  • Manages and develops the IT team members assigned in IT M&S functional area and any assigned cross functional teams, act as servant leader.
  • Defines needed level of harmonization and integration of the processes and application landscape for the functional area, in full consistency with the overall Enterprise Architecture.
  • Defines and executes technical direction roadmap in alignment with IT M&S organizational strategic priorities.
  • Ensures appropriate products, systems, and services are developed and delivered to the Marketing and Sales organizations.
  • Defines, leads, and manages all program/project management activities, product development and business consulting within the group of capabilities, engaging and acting as the business partner to the Marketing and Sales organizations and identifying initiatives and new demands.
  • Increases efficiency and effectiveness of business processes by applying adequate Strategies, IT methods and technologies.
  • Builds and provides strategic leadership across functional areas.
  • Acts as an innovation partner with the Marketing and Sales functions and enables strategies with technologies and implements those ideas to create business value.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead the IT M&S Salesforce.com CoE team working as a partner to the Marketing and Sales organization and other organizations identified as supporting partners to Marketing and Sales (such as Customer Experience Excellence).
  • Define the technical roadmap, plan a product/project portfolio, define a budget, and perform resource management for the team and capability.
  • Direct the improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of business processes by applying adequate strategies, IT methods and technologies.
  • Responsible for all operational KPI’s, continuous improvement of the service portfolio, and delivery of all products and services according to SLAs globally.
  • Build, maintain and enhance strategic and sustainable relationships with marketing and sales teams.
  • Interface across IT and with corporate teams (OneTeam), HP Services, corporate AH CX, Legal & Compliance and many vendors.
  • Contribute to identifying and delivering efficiency improvements across IT M&S.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IS/IT or Master’s degree in Business Administration and/or Professional Training with 8-10 years’ experience.
  • 10 years of experience with demonstrated track record in managing complex cross functional IT environments, successful project delivery, established business relationships across multiple business areas. 
  • At least 3 years of leadership and transformation experience, gained in the management of medium/large programs/projects or in line management.
  • Solid understanding of agile frameworks and how this is applied in a global setup. 
  • Comprehensive and demonstrated architectural understanding (incl. application, information and technology architecture and their link to business architecture) and the capability to develop a vision in this field is a must.
  • Must be a strong strategic thinker and motivator and understands what delivers true value to the business.
  • Experience working in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry is preferred. 
  • A solid understanding of all aspects of the pharma and / or biopharma and/or chemical industry in terms of Legal, Compliance, GxP, Computer Validation and Regulatory Requirements is preferred.
  • Competent in negotiation with a demonstrated ability to manage conflicts.
  • Proficient in English with a strong customer focus.
  • Strong analytic skills and attention to detail and ability to think strategically and see the big picture.
