Global Services Coordinator Medical Communication Writing
As a Global Services Coordinator Medical Communication Writing, you will play a central role in ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of a diverse range of medical communication materials—such as scientific publications, congress materials, advisory board content, medical slide decks, patient-facing materials, and more—by coordinating operational tasks and guiding a group of medical writers to align deliverables with scientific integrity, brand strategy, and company standards across multiple therapeutic areas.
This position requires strong communication and leadership skills, a keen eye for tracking and driving operational efficiency, and the ability to foster collaboration and best practices within the team. You will be responsible for stakeholder management, acting as a key point of contact for internal customers, addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth project execution across multiple therapeutic areas. Join our Global Services Medical Writing team as a Global Services Coordinator Medical Communication Writing, based in Barcelona (Sant Cugat), Spain, with a flexible working option.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Work with his/her coordination group and other members of the team to ensure on-time, high-quality execution of medical writing projects, including scientific publications, congress materials, advisory board content, medical slide decks, and patient-facing materials, working with a group of medical writers and vendors of record.
- Provide guidance and direction to medical writers, ensuring adherence to company processes, publication SOPs, and review standards.
- Act as a point of escalation for internal customers, addressing questions and concerns related to your group’s deliverables.
- Monitor workload, assess needs, and collaborate with fellow coordinators and team lead to identify and resolve gaps or roadblocks.
- Enforce process adherence, define new processes, and develop service-oriented solutions as needed.
- Foster a culture of excellence by sharing expertise, driving optimization, encouraging innovation, and supporting best practices within the team.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) or Master’s in a scientific field with additional education in medical writing preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in medical communications or medical writing within the pharmaceutical, biotech industry, or medical communication agency.
- Proven experience coordinating operational tasks and workload of a group, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of publication planning tools, document management systems, and industry standards for publishing pharma-sponsored medical research.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
