Data Governance Consultant

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an exceptional individual like you to join our IT team in San Cugat.
Depending on your experience and skills, this position can be filled either as Business Consultant or Lead Business Consultant.
Tasks and responsibilities
- As (Lead) Business Consultant, you will assist in developing the data governance framework and drive its adoption and operationalization across Boehringer Ingelheim.
- Work in close collaboration with our business stakeholders across all BI businesses, markets and IT to implement data centric processes around our Enterprise Data Governance Framework.
- Provide consulting to internal business partners at all levels to define and/or maintain the overall data domain concept as well as the specific data domains and support the implementation with projects and ongoing consultation.
- Integrate defined Data Domains into our data governance solution.
- Work in close collaboration with the business data domain owners and support them in onboarding their data sets, specifically considering data sharing regulations.
- Plan and run Data Strategy / Data Domain implementation projects across all business units and geographies/markets.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to build the bridge between IT and business functions. Change management ‐ convincing stakeholders across the organization on the value of data quality management is critical in this role.
- In order to identify and drive potential approaches to digitalize governance activities, you always follow innovative trends and technologies around data strategy.
- Lead the global community of business Data Domain Owners.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Natural Science or Bachelor’s degree with multiple years of proven working experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business data needs and business processes.
- Experience in data management and data governance in global environments.
- Good technical understanding of analytical IT technologies
- Project Management experience / leading external project members in a cross functional,
- English communication skills on a professional level (verbal and written)
- Experience with metadata / data governance solutions such as Collibra is preferred.
