Data & Analytics Engineer
As a Data & Analytics Engineer, you will act as a strategic interface between the HP Commercial business and our IT organizations. This role identifies opportunities, shapes initiatives, translates business needs into technical direction, and ensures successful delivery of data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate blends business acumen, communication skills, and strong technical understanding of data platforms, analytics and AI capabilities.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Be the main point of contact for the current HP EUCAN business application.
- Business partnering - serve as the primary IT contact for data and analytics needs within HP Commercial.
- Perform project management processes related to planning, financials, product enhancements, change management and reporting.
- Partner with IT vendors in delivering product enhancements, managing SLAs, ensuring smooth operations and reliable analytics platform.
- Support business counterparts with IT‑related operational topics and ensure clarity and alignment of expectations.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment and collaboration between internal IT teams.
- Drive the Data & Analytics technological roadmap and align business priorities with platforms capabilities.
- Identify technology gaps, future platform needs and opportunities for innovation.
- Collaborate with IT architects to define high‑level solution designs and ensure compliance with Enterprise Data & Platforms standards.
- Promote the adoption of BI data & analytics ecosystem and data-driven decision-making platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics or related field.
- Proven experience in data-related roles preferably supporting and operating business applications related to CRM, Marketing & Sales, Finance systems, or custom apps.
- Good understanding of modern data platforms using tools such as Snowflake, dbt, SnapLogic (or equivalent iPaaS) and cloud services (preferably AWS)
- Knowledge in APIs, data integration patterns, and event‑driven architectures.
- Familiarity with data governance and metadata management, ideally with Collibra; understanding of lineage, stewardship, and data catalog practices.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals: Python/SQL, Git, coding standards, automated testing, and production support practices.
- Proven experience of ITIL or similar service management operational frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities, and proactively drive work forward in a dynamic environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and structured problem‑solving skills.
- Nice to have: Working experience in regulated environments (GxP, GDPR, etc.)
