US_Specialist, Material Mgmt Store Room
Description
To contribute to providing the required critical maintenance spare parts in a timely fashion to the Facilities, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering personnel for the St. Joseph facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and locate, within SAP, part numbers for new stocking items. Perform receiving activities (Goods receipts) for parts delivered to the storeroom. Perform cycle counting of inventory items as assigned. Research, identify & eliminate root-cause of cycle count variances.
- Identify opportunities for cost saving. Assists in optimizing min/max levels and re-order quantities, and identifying/reducing over-stocked items.
- Perform standardization & cross referencing of duplicate storeroom items.
- Coordinate with maintenance compliance to identify and dispose of obsolete parts.
- Coordinate with maintenance planning any kitting and bundling activities to prepare kits planned work orders. Perform the goods issue for parts assigned to work orders.
- Request external vendor quotes and create shopping carts within SAP as required, to fill pick tickets for planned and emergency work orders.
- Responds promptly to departmental maintenance needs; solicits feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance.
- Acquire the roles within SAP to perform the necessary transactions for daily storeroom activities.
- Stay current on all training issued through LOS.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution, or two (2) years of related storeroom experience, or five (5) years of maintenance/purchasing/warehouse experience.
- A valid state motor vehicle operator's license is required
- Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel.
- Experience in SAP is strongly preferred.
- Must be able to respond promptly to departmental maintenance needs and meet commitments.
- Must be proficient in basic math skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and comply with any/all departmental SOP's
- Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to use their vision as well as hands and fingers to handle parts and to accomplish data entry tasks. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. The BIAH Materials Management Specialist must therefore have good eyesight or use glasses/contact lenses to correct vision to acceptable levels.
- The employee is frequently required to use hearing to answer the telephone and to receive instructions from their Supervisor and requests from internal BIAH employees.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and reach.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds (with assistance)
