Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Quality Control department located at our Saint Joseph, Missouri facility. As an Intern, you will support projects within Quality Control towards optimizing assay performance.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform analytical method experiments to support current projects in Virology and/or ELISA testing
- Provide status of assigned tasks when required
- Participation inf Project meetings as needed
- Perform other tasks related to the position and/or Project as required
- Track activities and progress on project plan
- Candidate will maintain laboratory notebooks in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Comply with all established GMP, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Create Powerpoint presentation to be delivered to the leadership team at the end of the assignment.
Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
- Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Major or minor in scientific discipline such as, but not limited to Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, BioChemistry
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
- Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
- Major or minor in scientific discipline such as, but not limited to Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, BioChemistry
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to learn new technology and concepts
- Good communication (written and oral) and organizational skills are required
- Experience working in a laboratory environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of buffers, acids/bases, and general laboratory terms and equipment is preferred.
- Analyze and interpret outcomes of experiments and report data, with supervision
