Process Leader, Packaging

The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical direction and supervision within the assigned packaging area in alignment with company policies and corporate business plans. This includes ensuring technical competence through the proper selection and training of the workforce, maintaining a safe workplace through effective training, and implementing and sustaining compliance with regulatory standards such as cGMP and OSHA.
The role also manages the documentation process related to Packaging and labeling activities, such as batch records and equipment logbooks, while supporting the development of a continuous improvement culture within the team. Additionally, the position focuses on adopting new technologies, optimizing production processes to maintain cost efficiency, and fostering a technically skilled and safety-conscious workforce.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise personnel and activities in the assigned area in order to produce high quality product or results.
- This role is expected to work on the floor with the employees as needed.
- Troubleshoot production problems, document findings, and implement solutions to resolve problems.
- Keep updated and train personnel in scientific principles, time management,GMP's, technical requirements, and all other policies and regulations governing the production of assigned product.
- Communicate to management progress of the department, problems, employee actions, new ideas, and all other pertinent information.
- Administration of company policies and safety programs and understanding and enforcing terms of the union contract.
- Interface with other department Process Leaders and employees in a professional manner to coordinate the activities and issues.
- Requisition purchase of operating supplies and recommends purchase of new or replacement equipment.
- Make recommendations to hire/terminate personnel and discipline personnel as needed according to policies and procedures.
- Participate in and/or chair appropriate meetings and committees as assigned.
- Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrated high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain the Company's excellent reputation in the community.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor's degree preferred with 2 years professional experience. 6 years relevant experience in lieu of degree. Experience must be inclusive of 1 year leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to train others and complete OJT assessments.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow systematic continuous improvement methodologies and the willingness to identify, define, and implement process improvements.
- Experience must be inclusive of managing and auditing master receipts, batch records and process order data within relevant SAP/ERP software systems.
- Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management required.
- Must be detail oriented, able to work with minimal supervision and self-motivated to utilize resources to troubleshoot as needed.
- Ability to manage multiple on-going projects with aggressive deadlines.
- Strong proofreading skills along with excellent communication and written capabilities.
- Must be proficient in MS office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Experience in ERP inventory control system(s)is preferred but not necessary.
- Must be able to readily learn and quickly become proficient in all software applications utilized for packaging equipment and operations.

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
