Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim´s high regard for our employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The overall goal of this role will be to help develop mass spectrometry workflows from samples derived from animal tissue in order to gain better mechanistic understanding after animal dosing. Specifically, we are looking to set up mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) workflows using a new Bruker timsTOF Flex with MALDI-2 high resolution mass spectrometer. Related to this effort you will also set up new proteomics-based workflows and be part of an interdisciplinary team to develop internal capability for using laser capture microdissection for mass spectrometry analysis.
- The qualified candidate should have demonstrated expertise in mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) analysis as well as experience developing chromatographic separations using HPLC or UPLC. Additionally, experience using mass spectrometry for structural elucidation and/or quantitation is strongly preferred.
- Additional requirements include a good understanding of molecular and cell biology and standard biochemical techniques such as electrophoresis and immunoprecipitation. Experience working with tissues and/or cell culture is desirable. This candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary research team with a focus on developing new tools/assays for enabling fundamental molecular and mechanistic understanding of development candidates. Excellent laboratory, communication and presentation skills are mandatory.
- Establishes an international reputation in your area of expertise with publications and conference participation at National and International events.
- Identifies and develops appropriate tools and methods to interpret and integrate scientific data.
- Complies with all applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; maintains proper records in accordance with SOP´s and policies.
- Collaborates with leading academic institutions as well as other industrial partners.
