Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Fall Co-Op to join our Nonclinical Pharmacokinetics team in the Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. The nonclinical PK group conducts investigative studies to characterize pharmacokinetics (PK) and immunogenicity for all viral vector Boehringer pipeline products (including oncolytic viruses, cancer vaccines, and gene therapies) as well as provides bioanalytical assay support throughout the product development lifecycle. As a Co-Op, you will conduct an independent research project and utilize cutting-edge analytical tools to contribute to our understanding of novel virotherapy platforms.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Under guidance of a mentor, conduct an independent research project focused on support of our viral vector-based therapies
• Design/develop/perform blood/cell-based assay and immunoassays to assess the impact of antibodies on viral kinetics
• Communicate experimental data and project progress to fellow scientists and multidisciplinary project teams in the form of written reports and presentations. Potential opportunity to contribute to publications.
• Comply with applicable regulations, perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, and maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and corporate policies.
Requirements
- Must be a current graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
- Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op.
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
- Major or minor in related field of co-op.
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
• Desirable to have previous experience in a cell/molecular biology or virology lab and hands-on experience with core laboratory techniques, including such assays as: cell culture, plaque assays, RT-qPCR, RNA/DNA extraction, ELISA
• Proficiency with computers and data analysis software is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment
