Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join the Clinical Pharmacology group of the CPS department located at our Ridgefield facility. As an Intern, you will be involved in various aspects of biopharmaceutics and clinical pharmacology geared towards the clinical development of new drugs at Boehringer Ingelheim. During the course of this internship, you will also learn about the role of clinical pharmacology in the drug development process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluation of preclinical and or clinical pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic drug metabolism, drug-drug interaction data, interpretation of the findings and preparation of a report
- Discussion and presentation of results
Requirements
- Must be a current Graduate (Masters or Ph.D.) student in good academic standing.
- Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the internship/co-op.
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
- Major or minor in related field of internship/co-op.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.
Compensation:
This position offers an hourly rate of $20.00/hr to $33.00/hr commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
- Highly motivated, diligent and hard wording individuals with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to collaborate and work in a cross functional team is an important requisite.
- Prior good understanding of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics is highly desirable
- Fast learners with a knack for problem learning and applying new softwares.
- Prior experience in the use of softwares for pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics or DDI evaluation is desirable.
- Prior experience in critically reviewing preclinical and clinical metabolism and drug-drug interaction data is an added asset.
