Description
Works with customers to develop prototypes for components and equipment to meet their needs. Fabricates, assembles, maintains and repairs parts. Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. This position supports all facilities and personnel on site. Working with all types of metals, plastics and polymers/ composite materials is required. This position offers a base salary typically between $65,000 and $85,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus, relocation and or other compensation elements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Utilizes interpersonal skills and creativity to ascertain the user´s needs and translate these needs into designs for fabrication.
- Work with maintenance personnel to fabricate or repair parts for facility equipment as needed. Fabricate parts and equipment to meet the needs of external customers and maintenance personnel with all types of metals, plastics and composite materials.
- Develop material lists and orders to complete assigned projects.
- The ability to develop and maintain schedules to meet the customers needs.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Technical School Diploma from an accredited institution concentrating in Machine Shop Operations or relevant work experience.
- Greater than five (5) years of machine shop experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and creativity in order to ascertain the user´s needs and translate them into designs for fabrication.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, shears, plasma cutter, welders and other shop related power equipment.
- Working with all types of metals, plastics and composite materials.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Moderate Demand:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds at one time. Frequent pushing, pulling or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds
- Heavy Demand:
- Lifting up to 100 pounds at one time. Frequent pushing, pulling or carrying of objects up to 50 pounds
Eligibility Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
Must be 18 years of age or older.
