Description
The Senior Sourcing Manager is responsible for executing complex commodity strategies at the R/OPU level, leading sourcing activities across multiple categories, conducting complex negotiations, and developing and implementing sourcing strategies that deliver business value. The current categories include Travel, Meetings & Events and Congresses, with opportunities to support additional sourcing initiatives and categories across the organization. The Senior Sourcing Manager partners with multiple business units, manages strategic supplier relationships, and provides sourcing expertise and strategic input to stakeholders. The incumbent collaborates closely with Category Management to develop and implement multi-commodity sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.

Compensation Data
The base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $222,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future. Duties & Responsibilities
Spend Management and Consolidation:
- Collaborates with Category Management and provide input to create and refine global Commodity Strategies.
- Brings potential innovation to Boehringer Ingelheim and local market intelligence.
- Actively supports consolidation roadmap implementation by bringing regional/local expertise.
- Secures that Regional/Local needs are covered within Sourcing Strategy.
- Implements Commodity Strategy on local level for complex commodity following the Target Operating Model (TOM) including, creating and optimizing Sourcing Cards, documenting savings and identifying potential efficiencies.
- Conducts sourcing activities within the markets as identifying and driving projects across categories within their responsibility to achieve Sourcing-relevant goals like automation, spend consolidation and supplier optimization.
- Continuously leverages market opportunities and bring strong negotiation skills to add value for the business while maximizing implementation and usage of Master Services Agreements (MSAs) and Frame Services Agreements (FSAs).
- Leads initiatives to optimize sourcing processes across multiple commodities, leveraging market opportunities and innovative sourcing tools.
Business Partnering:
- Promotes and drives the Strategic Sourcing vision and the Value proposition, integrating and aligning priorities with business partners to achieve Sourcing-relevant goals through advanced Sourcing Excellence.
- Actively engages with Business Partners across various departments to align sourcing activities with broader business objectives and ensure effective communication; setting joint targets, aligning sourcing projects while understanding business strategies and demand forecast to proactively drive improvements.
Supplier and Risk Management:
- Identifies, evaluates, and manages risks across multiple commodities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and mitigating potential disruptions.
- Develops and manages relationships with key and complex suppliers including high-spend and multi-commodity negotiations, to drive innovation and cost savings.
- Conducts Business Review meetings and governance sessions with critical local suppliers focused on market intelligence and innovation, while also identifying, mapping and evaluating sourcing risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required in Business Administration, Pharmaceuticals or related.
- Master degree (e.g. MBA) preferred.
- Major focus: Business Administration, Live Science, Economics, Project Management, Accounting, Finance or IT.
- Four to seven (4-7) years of professional experience in category management, procurement, or a related field, with an advanced knowledge of strategic leadership and supplier management.
- Advanced Mental fortitude & growth skill.
- Expert in Contract Development and Management.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Advanced in Self enabled buying.
- Outstanding knowledge in Sourcing Approach.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
