Principal Computational Scientist, Immuno-oncology Biomarker
Description
Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an innovative computational biologist (Principal) level to drive discovery of First-in-Class drugs to treat cancer. This position is a unique opportunity to directly contribute to development of new therapeutics and work with industry leaders in broadening your skillsets in cancer biology, genetics, omics, biobanks, RWE (Real World Evidence), and related computational biology methods including AI. It is also an opportunity to grow yourself in a team environment of feedforward (vs feedback), continuous improvement, and empowerment.
As a member of the Global Computational Biology and Digital Sciences (gCBDS) organization, the incumbent will work as a member of cross-functional project teams, contributing to or driving the discovery of First-in-Class or Breakthrough drugs for Oncology. You will leverage multimodal data relating to gene, protein, and metabolite measurements to drive the development of biomarkers for drug development. In addition to advancing the discovery of new therapeutics, with immediate focus in the field of cancer immunology, the successful candidate will contribute to the identification and establishment of external collaborations that will deliver on the aforementioned goals. He/She will help develop and champion the use of multimodal data and emerging approaches including ML/AI to accelerate new therapeutic concepts. Publishing in peer-reviewed journals and speaking at internationally recognized scientific conferences are encouraged with active support.
As an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development, and delivery of our products to our patients and customers. Our global presence provides opportunity for all employees to collaborate internationally, offering visibility and opportunity to directly contribute to the companies' success. We realize that our strength and competitive advantage lie with our people. We support our employees in a number of ways to foster a healthy working environment, meaningful work, diversity and inclusion, mobility, networking and work-life balance. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees.
