Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Material and Analytical Sciences department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As a Spring Co-Op, you will be working in a dynamic environment to develop novel critical material attributes to improve product performance through material characterization and mechanistic modeling platform.

Duties & Responsibilities
• He/She will be involved in mathematical development of unit operation process workflow based on large experimental database.
• Characterize various physical properties of drug substance and drug products.
• Collect high quality data and summarize findings for department seminar.
Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing from Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Material Engineering background.
- Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op.
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
- Major or minor in related field of co-op.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities
• Fluency in Python/Matlab programming is required.
• Good understanding of material science and formulation development of small molecules including relevant characterization techniques is preferred.
• Experience in transport phenomena/thermodynamic modeling is a plus.
• Knowledge of design of experiments (DOE) methodology and statistical analysis capabilities is a plus.
