Material and Analytical Sciences - Co-Op

Description

Boehringer Ingelheim seeks a Co-Op for its Material and Analytical Science department in Ridgefield, CT. The role involves helping develop product and process knowledge for drug products such as peptides, oligonucleotides, viruses, antibodies, and non-viral delivery systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory work with a high degree of proficiency to advance knowledge of the material properties in sustained delivery systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive presentations and technical reports and ensure accurate maintenance of data records.

Compensation Data

This position offers an hourly rate of $20.00 - $33.00 USD / hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled. For an overview of our benefits please click here.   
  

Requirements

  • Must be a current graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
  • Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the Co-Pp.
  • Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
  • Major or minor in related field of Co-Op.
  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
  • Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
  • Work in a team environment but also autonomously.
  • Ability to think outside the box, solve challenging problems and deal with significant ambiguity.
  • Significant experience with hydrogel-based sustained delivery systems, porosity, and diffusivity measurement preferred.
  • Micro-rheology expertise using multiple particle tracking (MPT) analysis strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience in MATLAB and coding is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation such as but not limited to SAXS, MALS, NMR and other spectroscopy equipment, is a plus.
