The IT Rotation Program is designed to accelerate the early development of these individuals by offering the opportunity to experience several rotational assignments within IT. This position will provide candidates the ability to “learn by doing” as well as provide greater exposure to various towers within the business and a better understanding of Boehringer Ingelheim. An IT executive will sponsor the program, which will consist of several rotations (approximately six (6) months per rotation) within the specific business function over a period of two (2) years. This could include either a domestic or international rotation, contingent upon business need.
Participants will gain exposure to multiple IT functions, senior leadership, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional business partners while building a broad understanding of technology within a global pharmaceutical organization.
Boehringer will be hiring 3 people for this great opportunity:
- Ridgefield, CT office – 2 Positions
- Duluth/Johns Creek, Gainesville, or Athens Georgia – 1 Position

Compensation Data
This position offers a base salary typically between $75,000 and $122,000. This position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
Duties & Responsibilities
During this two-year program, selected candidates will have the exciting opportunity to be a part of our IT Emerging Talent Program. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of various areas within IT through rotations within different departments. The IT projects and initiatives you collaborate on with cross-functional teams will support our organization and provide you with a unique learning experience with a global pharmaceutical company.
Consulting and Analysis:
- Meets regularly with defined clients and stakeholders to understand and analyze their processes and needs.
- Determines requirements to present possible solutions or improvements.
Client Support:
- Performs system support, administrative and maintenance duties for assigned systems.
- Troubleshoots application and system problems and take corrective actions.
Project/Product/Solution Activities:
- Effectively communicates and collaborates with team members, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with business partners to collect ideas for application/process improvements and participating on project teams.
- Delivers on assigned tasks and action items, proposing IT enhancements and project improvements.
Technical Focus:
- Utilizes knowledge of applications/systems and underlying architecture in assigned area of responsibility.
- Develops and maintains awareness of IT process best practices, technology trends and emerging technologies.
- Exposure or experience with modern digital technologies such as AI/ML, Data & Analytics, Cloud Platforms, APIs & Integration, Python, Automation (RPA), Cybersecurity, IoT, or Enterprise Applications.
Documentation:
- Produces documentation as required in support of baseline and project activities.
- Completes assigned rotations within different IT departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of various areas within IT.
- Actively participates in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrates a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and troubleshooting IT-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Minimum of two (2) years business experience; experience in IT
- Maximum of 5 years business experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and coordinate efforts with colleagues from multiple functional areas.
- Experience leading projects (Project Management Skills).
- Strong communication + interpersonal skills, including excellent presentation skills.
- History of successful performance.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
