Compensation Data

The base salary range for this position is $250,000 to $394,000.   The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements.  We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future.  Actual compensation will be based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, and other factors permitted by law. The Executive Director, Information Management is responsible for budgeting and allocation for data (>$50 million annually), planning, negotiating terms, providing actionable information through dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses (as necessary) for all levels of Field-based Medicine, Therapeutic Area Medicine, Marketing, Value and Access, and sales forces. The information and insights are used to monitor performance and assess effectiveness of customer-facing teams and direct promotion efforts, and other programs and projects as required. In addition, the information is used as input to short and long-term forecasts (including incentive compensation goals), the integrated brand and customer plans, and to health system key account segmentation and planning.

 

This role is also responsible for building and directing the Shared Services function supporting all other teams within Information Management, Analytics and Insights by adopting the AI enabled data product design and implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish and direct the Shared Services organization that provides standardized and as needed analytics, data modeling, reporting and data operations for the entire analytic organization. Establish and continuously revitalize a multi-year structured program with service level/quality management and program governance. Directs team size of 70+ outsourced contractors, managing an annualized shared services budget of ~$10M.
  • Lead Information Management function that has increased Data Governance scope and accountability for strategy, design and operations. This includes all our master data, transactional data, KPI’s, Reporting, and Analytics.
  • Lead operations that manage and translate all Specialty pharmacy, distributor data into patient level data sets with increased scope due to more specialty pharmacies, patient hub data, other providers, and new products.
  • Support entire product portfolio for Primary Care and Specialty Care, and as more products get launched, continually enhance and evolve our processes. 
  • Establish data SOPs, policies, procedures and plans to support our organization’s changing process and execution needs. Author and approve data governance SOPs including HCP Specialty Exclusions within Promotion of Boehringer Branded Products.
  • Enable data governance processes for the management of target list and call plan process.
  • Develop data products and AI enabled standardized reports across HP that monitor sales and performance at the sub national and account level. Collaborate with therapeutic TA's, CFME and Data Strategy & Innovation analytics teams to deliver reports generating advanced analytics identify and share insights that help drive key business decisions. Communicate insightful and meaningful results to and understand needs of senior brand and corporate managers and share strategic direction with Analytics and Insights staff.
  • Manage data and insights (procedures and functionality) that drive new POA planning, call planning, call recording, marketing activities and prescription analyses.
  • Bring industry best practices on report structures, metrics and platforms; as well as data purchase and quality to BI.
  • Responsible for all budgeting associated with data and reporting systems, new system releases and communication costs. Accountable for HP Data Governance and Reporting to ensure standardized definition and business rules/data policies are maintained to ensure purchases, reporting and analysis are accurately developed/implemented across the HP Business Unit.
  • Coordinate the purchasing and use of prescription data between Field Forces, Marketing, Market Access, Medical and Analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mathematics/Statistics or other related majors required.  Master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant working experience with 8 of those years in consulting and/or pharmaceutical industry experience, working directly with product segmentation, benchmarking, score-carding, targeting, system processes, project management, process simplification and/or data warehouse management.
  • 6+ years of leading people and/or leading projects.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau, Salesforce data warehouse and analytical tools such as SQL, etc., Experience with Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, can manage multiple projects and direct reports at the same time.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical prescription data, CRM processes systems, budgeting and industry targeting and analytical processes.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in managing several large-scale projects. Experience in working with Senior Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budget and resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a highly matrixed organization.
