The Executive Director, Forecasting and Value & Access (V&A) Analytics serves as the enterprise leader responsible for overseeing the translation of complex market, customer, payer, health system, access, and business dynamics into actionable forecasts, insights, scenarios, and recommendations that inform Human Pharma's most critical strategic and operational decisions. This role serves as a key thought partner to Commercial, V&A, Finance, Patient Excellence, Medicine, and Customer Engagement & Transformation (CE&T) leadership, ensuring decisions are grounded in a comprehensive understanding of future market performance, business risk, access dynamics, and growth opportunities.

As the senior leader responsible for forecasting and V&A analytics team, the Executive Director (ED) drives enterprise alignment around planning assumptions, performance expectations, and strategic scenarios that influence portfolio strategy, investment prioritization, resource allocation, launch planning, lifecycle management, financial planning, and market access strategy. This role ensures leaders have a forward-looking understanding of business performance and provides objective, analytically rigorous perspectives on evolving market conditions, competitive threats, reimbursement dynamics, customer behavior, and portfolio opportunities to improve decision quality and organizational effectiveness.

The position establishes the vision, governance, standards, methodologies, and operating model for Forecasting and Value & Access Analytics while building organizational capabilities that support increasingly sophisticated decision-making. The ED provides leadership and oversight for data-modeling capabilities, ensuring the underlying analytical frameworks, data structures, assumptions, and methodologies support scalable, accurate, and decision-ready forecasting and market access insights. The ED partners closely with Commercial, Value & Access, Finance, Analytics, AI & Data, Digital Products, Platforms, & Solutions, and global stakeholders to continuously advance forecasting and access-analytics capabilities, enabling the organization to scale, modernize, and make faster, more informed business decisions in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.

As Boehringer moves to an AI-first operating model, the ED leads the transformation of forecasting from a manual, spreadsheet- and vendor-intensive process into an AI-native, platform-based capability — one unified source of inputs and assumptions, real-time scenario modeling, and near real-time, decision-ready outputs, delivered in close partnership with the AI & Data organization.

This position is based in Ridgefield, CT.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with Commercial, V&A, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Patient Excellence, Medicine, and Customer Engagement & Transformation (CE&T) leaders to define the integrated forecasting and Value & Access Analytics agenda.
  • Ensure forecasting, payer and health system analytics, formulary coverage insights, reimbursement and access performance analytics, copay analytics, and pull-through measurement are aligned to the most critical business priorities and decision needs.
  • Establish priorities, governance, and resource allocation across the function to ensure analytical efforts focus on the highest-value business questions and strategic opportunities.
  • Translate evolving enterprise and therapeutic area priorities into a clear roadmap for Forecasting and V&A Analytics capabilities.
  • Oversee the development, governance, and communication of forecast assumptions, models, scenarios, and outputs that support commercial planning, financial planning, production planning, portfolio management, and enterprise decision-making.

  • Partner with Value & Access, Contracting, Trade Relations, Brand teams, and other stakeholders to ensure payer and health system analytics are translated into meaningful business insights and incorporated into planning assumptions, performance evaluation, and strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the integration of formulary coverage insights, reimbursement and access performance analytics, copay analytics, and pull-through measurement into a unified understanding of market performance and future opportunity.
  • Ensure analytics are interpreted within the broader commercial context and translated into implications for access strategy, portfolio planning, resource allocation, launch preparation, customer engagement, and performance optimization.
  • Hold data providers and vendors accountable for the quality, timeliness, and traceability of input feeding forecasts and access analytics, partnering with data governance bodies (e.g., the Patient Data Council) to ensure decisions rest on a single, trusted version of the truth.
  • Own the synthesis of forecasting, payer/health system analytics, market, competitive, and access signals into clear, integrated insights that answer the "so what / now what" for business leaders. Ensure the function moves beyond reporting and models to deliver a coherent point of view — framing the business question, connecting insights across sources, quantifying implications, and recommending action on strategy, investment, access, and resource allocation.
  • Proactively surface emerging risks, opportunities, and performance shifts to Commercial, V&A, Finance, and TA partners ahead of demand, and ensure insights are delivered in near real time and embedded directly into planning and decision cycle.
