Compensation Data

The Executive Director, AI & Data Excellence is responsible for steering the organization's AI strategy and initiatives across Human Pharma, US. By doing so, you will work closely with the Head of Human Pharma to ensure that AI-driven innovations are aligned with the company's strategic goals and deliver tangible value to the business. This role is pivotal in realizing value through AI-driven innovation that will enhance customer engagements, decision-making processes, and improve operational efficiencies that is seen across both the top and bottom lines. With proven leadership experience, you will hold the CoE and product teams accountable for delivering impactful AI solutions and ensuring that these changes are effectively integrated into core business processes.
This is an on-site position in Ridgefield, CT.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads a diverse team of technology and business experts from across the CoE and Product/AI Foundations pods.
- Fosters disruptive innovation, collaboration, mentorship, and cross-functional alignment.
- Oversees the CoE, including talent management, legal compliance, impact insights, AI foundations, change management, and communications.
- Establishes clear accountabilities across roles. Steer the CoE towards actionable goals leading to business outcomes.
- Responsible for budget and resource management across AI initiatives influencing where ramp up and ramp down activities across Human Pharma occur.
- Serves as a strategic liaison across Therapeutic Areas, IT, Legal, and Compliance to ensure initiatives and use cases are aligned, feasible, and execution-ready.
AI Strategy:
- Develops and implements a comprehensive AI strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives. This includes identifying opportunities, prioritizing initiatives, and ensuring identified opportunities have clear value outcomes.
- Translates the strategy into a plan of action.
Innovation and Trends:
- Stays abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices, and drives initiatives that push the boundaries for AI application with tangible business outcomes.
Research & Insights:
- Leverages both quantitative & qualitative research methods to derive valuable insights from AI implementations.
- Uses Data-driven approaches to inform decision-making.
Responsible AI:
- Ensures AI solutions comply with relevant law, regulations, and maintain high standards of data security with clear guidance from legal.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Motivates, fosters buy-in, support, and enthusiasm for AI initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical or other relevant industry experience required.
- 5+ years of program management experience in digital transformation required.
- Leads AI strategy and initiatives with a plan of action, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Stakeholder management, driving collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience in cross-functional / matrix leadership.
- Drives ROI and value creation through AI-driven solutions.
- Establishes a consistent, repeatable business planning process for tracking strategy execution progress.
- Utilizes strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Oversees change management for strategic efforts.
- Implements Agile and PMO frameworks, as required.
- Ability to provide quality control and guidance on projects / products.
- Ability to challenge status quo as needed, effectively with senior management.
- Ability to manage complex projects with effective prioritization and time management.
- Ability to maintain strong attention to detail and urgency.
- Adapts to a fast-paced environment with resilience.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
