Application Architect Cloud System at Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation in Ridgefield, CT (Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from this office 20% of the time)

Job Duties: Design and build cloud computing and event-driven architectures with high availability at global scale. Establish best practices and policies for the utilization of Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) products. Design and/or enhance multi-tenant architecture utilizing virtual resources that can be consumed and scaled as needed. Architect systems that seamlessly capture real-time data from machinery, and utilize statistical modeling to enhance system performance and forecast potential outcomes with precision. Design and/or build event-enabling services for decoupling application logic and developing micro-services, capture real-time data from machines for analysis. Lead and/or manage a diverse team of Business and IT professionals in delivering results. Collaborate and partner with various organizational levels to ensure timely delivery of technology driven business solutions aligned with company strategies, defined business priorities, and regulatory mandates. *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation office in Ridgefield, CT 20% of the time. **Multiple openings.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (8:00am to 5:00pm) 

Description

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have four (4) years of experience with: Collaboration and Leadership, including partnering with various organizational levels, ensuring timely delivery of technology solutions, and leading and managing diverse teams; and, Technical Assessments and Proof-of-Concepts, including evaluating third-party technical products and developing and leading proof-of concepts. Must have three (3) years of experience with: Architectural Design of Data and Analytical Platforms, including creating robust architectures for data and analytics systems, considering scalability, performance, and security, and leveraging cloud computing and microservices; Policy and Guidelines for Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS), including defining policies and best practices for SaaS and PaaS products and ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational goals; Enterprise Technology Decisions, including evaluating and choosing enterprise products and assessing their fit within the overall enterprise architecture; Architecting systems that seamlessly capture real-time data from machinery, and utilizing statistical modeling to enhance system performance and forecast potential outcomes with precision; Mentoring in architecture, including guiding junior architects in enterprise architecture and technology concepts, sharing real-world experiences, and fostering their growth; and, Leading or managing a diverse team of Business and IT professionals to achieve results by providing clear direction, managing performance, and fostering collaboration. 10% domestic and international travel required.
