The AI Change Management Lead is responsible for helping to deliver on the organization’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy and initiatives across Human Pharma, US.  By doing so, the incumbent will work closely with the Director of AI Transformation, to ensure AI projects are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and can deliver tangible value to the business. This role spearheads the advancement of the strategy through helping lead the organization through the change required to deliver successful and innovative AI solutions. This role enables teams to seamlessly integrate Al technologies across departments, fostering innovation and efficiency. The incumbent champions a holistic approach by aligning Al goals with overarching organizational objectives, ensuring a unified and strategic deployment of Al capabilities to drive impactful outcomes in close collaboration with product teams and business.

The AI Change Management Lead is accountable for the education of teams on the changes that will occur as part of the AI transformation. This role systematically leads, establishes, and executes enterprise-wide change management practices focusing on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, and organization structures, when necessary, while communicating the value proposition and status of the AI initiatives based on established change-related KPIs.

 

This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures alignment in AI related topics through the organization by creating and executing a change management strategy with insight gathered from cross-functional teams and CoE.
  • Proactively adapts and continuously improves change management strategies and educational materials to sustain the change.
  • Supports the talent development effort to establish training and mentoring opportunities in alignment with the identified change, capability requirements, and adoption ambition.
  • Handles objections that arise with the change, acknowledging and addressing concerns while establishing change agents to highlight the benefits of and advocate for the change.
  • Ensures proper mechanisms are in place to confirm program and project change goals are being met.
  • Works closely with impact and insights lead to understand the impact the change is meant to drive across IT and the business, while anticipating questions, issues, and risks proactively and determine and plan for long-term changes to the business.
  • Drive ROI and value creation through effective change management and adoption AI-driven solutions.
  • Establishes a consistent, repeatable change planning process for realizing identified value realization ambitions.
  • Lead implementation of AI change management strategy and initiatives with a plan of action, ensuring alignment with business goals and measurable value proposition.


AI Change Lead: 

  • Helps drive adoption and implementation of Boehringer's AI strategy that aligns with the organization's objectives. This includes redesigning processes and performance metrics and adoption expectations in collaboration with business to realize organizational objectives and value generation.
  • Translates the strategy into a measurable and actionable plan for change.


Responsible AI:

  • Ensures delivery teams of AI solutions comply with relevant law, regulations, and maintain high standards of data security through appropriate change practices, with clear guidance from legal and compliance.


Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Motivates, fosters buy-in, support, and enthusiasm for AI initiatives and the value.
  • Drives collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required; Master’s or higher degree in a relevant field preferred (e.g., Organizational Design, Human Resources, Business Administration).
  • Five-plus (5+) years’ experience in Pharma instituting sustainable change across end users, functions, and organizations.
  • Three-plus (3+) years’ experience in HR functions or other relevant area.
  • Proven experience in cross-functional / matrix leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to provide quality control and guidance on projects / products.
  • Ability to challenge status quo as needed, effectively with senior management.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with effective prioritization and time management.
  • Maintains strong attention to detail and urgency.
  • Adapts to a fast-paced environment with resilience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially in PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Change management certification(s) preferred (e.g. 7-S, Kotter, ADKAR, PDCA).
  • Extensive experience aligning change management strategy with overarching business objectives, ensuring a synergistic approach to organizational growth.
  • Previous experience implementing AI measurement strategy and initiatives with a plan of action, ensuring alignment with business goals and measurable value proposition is strongly preferred
  • Preferred Data and AI knowledge and expertise: skills and applications required for advanced analytics (statistical analysis, predictive analytics, AI/ML, data mining) such as ML algorithms, supervised/unsupervised learnings, deep learning, neural networks, NLP, frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn, and programming skills such as Python, R, and SQL.  Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases is also valuable.
  • Previous experience in coaching and mentoring peers by sharing knowledge and expertise in AI to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation is strongly preferred.  This includes being able to explain complex AI concepts in a way that is easily understood by non-technical team members, providing guidance and support in the application of AI technologies and ability to inspire and motivate others to learn and apply new technologies.
