Commercial Excellence Manager

We are looking for a Commercial Excellence (CE) Manager for the Southern Africa Animal Health business based in Johannesburg.

 

This position will be responsible for ensuring full and proper implementation of regional CE strategies taking into consideration the local specificities. Key responsibilities in the role include establishing capabilities and ensuring execution of CE strategies and initiatives. As a member of the AH country leadership team, the CE manager will be driving innovation and excellence for the AH organization, challenge status quo and aim for continuous improvement to help the organization in its market leadership journey. This position reports to the Head of Animal Health, Southern Africa.

 

 

Tasks & Responsibilities:

 

Operational Excellence:

  • Lead activities and initiatives within areas of sales force effectiveness and strategic account management including segmentation, targeting, identification of action plans of key accounts and sales & activity performance management
  • Manage customer relations by leading Veeva and platform integration, change requests, feedback and providing guidance on digital content creation based on customer preference and needs
  • Manage transparency and automation of customer master data by leading data governance and integration  

 

Strategic Project Leadership:

  • Coordinate strategic business projects and development initiative such as product launches in the assigned territory in strong collaboration with involved stakeholders
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of strategic plans and projects in alignment with key stakeholders on timelines and results
  • Create tracking methodology for regional and local growth initiatives and monitor progress to provide timely updates  

 

Strategic Implementation and Team Development:

  • Actively participate in local as well as regional Leadership Team Meetings to track action items, decisions taken, responsible parties and follow-up with action item owners to ensure completion
  • Ensure that Commercial Excellence function acts as an integrated center of excellence with the commercial functions and decide on process improvements over time to ensure local efficiency and effectiveness

 

Compliance Responsibility:

Strong governance and compliance ensuring adherence to corporate Standards, local regulations and best practices as applicable.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in diverse Commercial Excellence roles, Business Analyst and Channel Execution in a multinational or corporate environment
  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals is preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking with good business acumen

  • Strong project and process management skills including leading project teams and developing business cases/plans
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken
  • Excellent communication skills to influence and lead without authority
  • High level of accuracy and coordination skills
  • Capable of organizing, planning, and prioritizing workload
