QC Technician
THE POSITION
We are looking for a QC Technician to join our Quality Control Microbiology team at our Pirbright site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in microbiology, gained either through education or professional experience, to develop their skills within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Location: Pirbright, UK. This is a fully onsite and fixed-term contract until end of December 2027.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- All aspects of in-process testing where results are used to support release of batches to required specifications, including receipt of test samples.
- Test in support of site utilities and environmental monitoring testing programs, such as microbial count, endotoxin, conductivity and TOC.
- Complete laboratory documentation and data entry accurately.
- Support quality processes including deviations, CAPA, OOS investigations and change controls.
- Maintain SOPs, laboratory equipment, reagents and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, biosafety and HSE standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QC function.
- Sterilisation of equipment and waste removal from the restricted area.
REQUIREMENTS
- A background in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline, gained through education, university studies or practical laboratory experience.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally within microbiology, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or another regulated setting.
- An understanding of GMP, GxP or quality-controlled environments, or a willingness to learn and develop in this area.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality documentation.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.
