Production Planner Support

THE POSITION

The Production Planner Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the availability of materials and the smooth execution of intercompany supply flows, balancing customer service, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency across the end-to-end supply chain.The position interfaces closely with Procurement Planning, Production Execution, Quality Management, Inbound and Outbound Logistics, and other cross-functional business partners. Key challenges include managing a complex supply network across multiple manufacturing sites and logistics partners, ensuring continuity of supply while balancing service levels, inventory targets, and working capital objectives in a dynamic environment. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to inventory optimization initiatives, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, develop expertise in SAP planning and supply chain analytics, and actively participate in continuous improvement and digitalization projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with Manufacturing Management and shop floor personnel regarding daily issues that may impact production schedule adherence.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels for assigned materials, adjusting stock parameters based on operational and business requirements.
  • Implement actions to reduce short-dated and expired materials, ensuring proper inventory control measures are applied.
  • Maintain MRP master data for assigned materials and collaborate with the teams responsible for the MDGx process to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Analyze, monitor, and update relevant supply chain and inventory KPIs.
  • Support the continuous improvement of planning processes and supply chain performance.
  • Review and manage material availability to support production plans and customer demand.
  • Monitor supply risks and proactively escalate potential shortages.
  • Participate in S&OP / Demand & Supply Review processes.
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Warehouse teams to ensure timely shipment execution.
  • Support root cause analysis for supply disruptions and service level deviations.
  • Ensure compliance with planning processes and data governance standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience or knowledge in Supply Chain Planning and Scheduling within a pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environment or similar industry.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Solid understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Production Scheduling, Inventory Management and Supply Planning processes principles.
  • Strong analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills and familiarity with reporting tools (Power BI is a plus).
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills in Italian and English.
  • Proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to prioritize and work under changing business conditions.
  • Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing guidelines is considered an advantage.

  • The gross annual base salary foreseen for this position ranges from € 26.600 to € 39.300, depending on candidate's skills and experience.
