The Position:
We are seeking a Product Manager – Cardiovascular & Metabolism to join our Human Pharma for Southern Africa (SAF). Based in Nairobi, this role reports to the Head of Marketing and CXE and plays a key role in shaping the commercial success of the portfolio.
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of Integrated Customer Plans (ICP), ensure launch readiness, and deliver data-driven marketing strategies. You will be responsible for all marketing and promotion activities for promoted cardiovascular and metabolism on market products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance customer engagement, ensure compliance, and continuously optimize performance through a rapid learning approach.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of strategic marketing plans, launch readiness, and ICPs for assigned products, in close collaboration with Medical, Market Access, Field Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Deliver sales performance and portfolio market share growth, proactively identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions
- Manage and execute operational marketing plans, including promotional budget. The successful incumbent will be accountable to ensure that promotional investments are strategically deployed to achieve optimal ROI.
- Drive customer-centric engagement strategies, including field visits and ongoing market insights to refine execution
- Build strong cross-functional alignment, ensuring timely delivery of key initiatives and projects
- Lead product training and capability building for field force teams, aligned with evolving market dynamics
- Monitor and evaluate marketing program effectiveness, using analytics and insights to optimize outcomes
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of forecasts, budgets, and marketing reports
- Leverage digital tools, data, and insights to design integrated customer engagement strategies and maximize business impact
- Develop and deploy non-personal tactics including digital marketing, medical education platforms and product showcases
- Must have a good knowledge of market research methods and insight generation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in Cardiovascular and/or Metabolism is a plus
- Prior Product Management / Brand Management experience
- Strong strategic marketing and launch management capability
- Proven experience with CRM platforms (Veeva or similar)
- Solid understanding of digital marketing and customer engagement models
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
