SME, Payroll Tax and Garnishment
The Position
Are you ready to take the next step in your career? Our Payroll NA Team is seeking for a dedicated and experienced SME, Payroll Tax and Garnishment (US).
As SME for Payroll team, you will oversee payroll tax and garnishment processing, functions as subject matter expert for all payroll tax and garnishment related activities and serve as point of contact for all employee payroll tax/garnishment questions. You will ensure that all tax/garnishment related updates are fully tested and implemented in the payroll system. Payroll Tax and Garnishment SME will have to ensure compliant, accurate and timely tax/garnishment processing. You will work in close collaboration with the Payroll Team, HRIT, Ridgefield Retained Organization and various third-party vendor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- As SME Payroll Tax and Garnishment, you will ensure that all tax and garnishment related updates are fully tested and implemented in the payroll system. Performs process and system testing (UAT) such as Online Service System (OSS) notes, BSI TUBS (Tax Update Bulletins), and Human Resources Support Package packages (HRSP).
- You will handle periodic, monthly and quarterly tax filing, and perform online filing.
- You will conduct research, analysis, and resolution of Payroll Tax and Garnishment issues. Resolves different tax/ garnishment related cases and corrections of employee’s tax profiles.
- You will answer/ resolve complex tax inquiries from employees (expats, inpats).
- You will handle year-end close coordination, preparation of W2's, and providing high quality customer service to all employees.
- You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- You will collaborate with the broader HR team to provide support, communication, and accurate information as required or requested to support HR and other functional areas of the business.
Requirements:
To qualify for the role, you should have at least 4-6 years of relevant payroll tax experience.
Additionally, we are looking for someone with:
- Academic degree in business or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of payroll, payroll tax, tax reporting and tax correspondence at federal, state and local levels. With experience in processing end-to-end payroll using SAP.
- Prefer experience with Payroll software systems such as SAP HR, ADP and MyServices ticketing tool. Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Licensure or certification: CPP or FPC preferred
- Ability to learn new applications and processes related to the configuration, calculation and assignment of taxes within the payroll process.
