The Position
Leading the MA HCA TA strategy for OPU in line with global strategy. Customise MA, HCA strategy to meet the needs of local payers in OPU for Therapeutic Areas and adapt to local market dynamics to maximize growth and accelerate access. Building MA HCA TA plans including understanding of the healthcare gaps for the required therapy area, burden of disease study and value proposition & enlisting plans according to IMETA strategic priorities. Monitor, interpret and shape developments and gaps in healthcare trends and policies for our pipeline HP product portfolio and supporting the public market and the brand team for the existing commercialized portfolio. Lead the TA HCA input into the therapy area forecasting exercise. Map and lead the interactions with the key stakeholders identified in shaping the landscape in the therapy area. Implement the market access plan aligned for the respective therapy area.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Building Market Access, HCA TA strategy in OPU; including Pricing, Reimbursement and Enlisting strategies for the TA, in alignment with IMETA MA strategy and OPU strategic priorities. Leading TA MA plan for OPU; review & monitor TA MA plans for the OPU to achieve Market access priorities. Ensure Cross-functional collaboration and alignment. Be the main point of contact for Market Access topics in assigned TA with IMETA and OPU brand teams. Establish close working relationships with colleagues in OPU (Marketing, Medical, Commercial Operations). Co-Facilitate and contribute to the ICPs & MMM. Guide and review the MA plans developed by the OPU including resources allocation (budget and FTE) and content. Support OPU with Market access TA-related payers requests.
- Preparing for the future by developing healthcare affairs and market access strategies by pro-actively identifying opportunities and market shaping initiatives (payers survey, ad boards, Market research, etc.). Ensure launch readiness by designing critical market access activities, like preparing payers, budget owners, etc. to enhance patient access. Provide adequate support for OPUs to ensure successful launch of new products / indications.
- Mitigating the impact of LOE. Proactively develop and implement strategies to address the challenges posed by generic competition. Develop healthcare affairs communication plans for payers to address concerns and ensure a smooth transition during the LOE events. Develop plans with multiple market access scenarios for generic entry and pricing impact. Develop second brand strategies when appropriate. Maximize our product life cycle by enforcing our patent portfolio and regulatory exclusivity where legally appropriate.
- Design and lead OPU projects to ensure accelerated access and reimbursement for the respective TA. Lead project implementation in the OPU for the TA. Ensure successful execution at the OPU level through monitoring and robust support for the OPUs. Share best practices across the region and leverage key initiatives.
- Understand the market landscape, identify healthcare mega trends. Capitalize on opportunities for access and reimbursement by ensuring the right partnership with health authorities. Identify challenges of access to healthcare within the TA across the region and proactively address these gaps. Map the stakeholders within the OPU for the prioritized key accounts. Shaping the market for the TA by designing activities and create messages to engage with key stakeholders. Implementation of the plan.
- Value proposition for TA & Material development. Prepare or Adapt the value story for the TA based on the inputs from IMETA. Drive value proposition discussion in collaboration with the Brand team and the MA Head. Localize MA material / content for to engage with MA stakeholders / payers. Review OPU MA materials and secure adherence to the approval process for MA Material at OPU and ROPU level. Ensure preparation and readiness of Value dossiers to discuss with the key stakeholders within the identified accounts to support the inclusion in the formulary.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Economics or Business Administration. Master’s in health economics and Pharmacoeconomics is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in the field of market access / healthcare policy
- Strong understanding of Indian healthcare ecosystem and relevant policies
- Superior analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to craft strategy and oversee tactical implementation
- Ability to work with cross-functional team
- Ability to work independently in fast changing environment
- Position will be based at Mumbai
