Internship: Purchasing
THE INTERNSHIP
In this internship you will join the Purchasing team of Boehringer Ingelheim Italy supporting the Senior Sourcing Manager with the activities in compliance with the Company procedures, and in accordance with the Global Purchasing prescriptions.
Tasks & what you will be learning:
- Supplier onboarding & validation: support the supplier validation process and master data set-up in SAP-related tools (supplier registration, documentation checks, data completeness).
- Support to sourcing events / tenders: assist in the preparation and management of online tenders (RFx), working on service categories such as creative and PR/communication agencies, consulting services and medical-related services, from set-up to final tabulation, ensuring alignment with company procedures.
- Commercial analysis & reporting: collect and structure suppliers’ quotations, build comparison tables, and support the analysis of service proposals (e.g. creative campaigns, communication activities, consulting projects, medical education initiatives and scientific publications), evaluating scope, deliverables, rates and assumptions.
- Contracting support: draft and update contracts and purchasing documentation (e.g. service agreements) based on predefined templates, supporting different service categories such as agencies, consulting and medical/scientific services.
- Operational procurement support: support the management of materials and related data in the relevant systems, including set-up activities and price updates where applicable.
- Stakeholder interaction: collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Communication, Medical and Business Owners) to collect requirements, clarify scopes and support sourcing execution across different types of services (agencies, consulting, medical education and publications).
- Local implementation of global strategies: support the deployment of global categories and sourcing strategies at local level (e.g. vendor consolidation initiatives, application of global guidelines on supplier selection, updates of sourcing documentation and alignment with global teams).
- Team exposure & continuous improvement: participate in purchasing meetings where we discuss daily operations as well as problem solving, purchasing strategies and standardization of tools and methodologies.
Requirements:
- Degree in any subject.
- Languages: native Italian speaker and good written and spoken English.
- Good knowledge of the Office package (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). SAP is an option.
- Planning, organization, teamwork, communication, customer orientation skills.
- Curiosity, desire to learn and put into practice.
- Ability to innovate, analyze complex data and establish priorities.
- Strong digital mindset with a proactive approach to exploring and applying AI tools.
