Regional Public & Government Affairs Manager - Nord

THE POSITION

We are looking for a Regional Public & Government Affairs Manager to ensure a strong and qualified institutional presence with elected political decision-makers at regional and local levels (Regional Councils, Regional Committees, Commissions, Mayors, Municipal Councils, Provincial Presidents) within the Human Pharma and Animal Health sectors. This role focuses exclusively on political engagement, aiming to anticipate, influence, and enhance public and regulatory debates in healthcare, pharmaceutical, and veterinary sectors.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong and ongoing relationships with regional and local political representatives, including Councilor’s and Mayors.
  • Promote awareness and recognition of the company’s contribution to human and animal health among political decision-makers.
  • Monitor regional political and legislative activity relevant to Human Pharma and Animal Health (resolutions, motions, bills, parliamentary questions, etc.).
  • Develop and implement political advocacy plans aligned with business priorities to facilitate the achievement of company objectives.
  • Draft, prepare, and manage institutional documents: letters, briefings, position papers, amendments, parliamentary oversight acts, guidance and control acts, bills, political notes.
  • Support the organization of institutional meetings, company visits, public events, and political roundtables.
  • Collaborate and co-create reference activities with internal teams (Business, Market Access, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, Communication, Legal, Finance) to ensure consistency in the company’s political positioning.
  • Contribute to defining the regional political strategy on access, sustainability, public health, and veterinary healthcare.

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Political Science, Law, International Relations, or related fields.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in government affairs, public affairs, or similar roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Fluency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
  • In-depth knowledge of the functioning of Italian regional institutions, national and regional legislative processes, legislative drafting, and national/local political dynamics.
  • Regulatory expertise and ability to conduct political analysis applied to Human Pharma and Animal Health sectors.
  • Established network of political contacts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and institutional writing skills.
  • Proactivity, political sensitivity, discretion, and goal orientation.
  • Knowledge of institutional protocols and ceremonial practices.
  • Experience in multi-stakeholder contexts (trade associations, inter-parliamentary groups, healthcare task forces) is considered a preferential qualification would be a plus.
