Commercial Excellence Data & Process Automation - AH

THE INTERNSHIP

Join and support the Commercial Excellence team, whose main objectives are to establish data-driven, customer-focused, and innovative commercial operations, together with the continuous development of its talent. During this internship, you will have the opportunity to choose to contribute to one of two areas: Process Automation & AI or Market Insights & Data Governance. Supporting the team's targets of sustainable growth and a competitive position for Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Division.

 

Tasks & what you will be learning:

Process Automation & AI Specialist:

  • Support commercial policy processes.
  • Analyse and map current (“AS‑IS”) and future (“TO‑BE”) business processes, focusing on payment automation, order management, and contract–order matching.
  • Suggest improvements and propose automation opportunities to reduce manual work.
  • Contribute to automation projects related to data processing and payable outputs.
  • Automate recurring tasks using Python, or by suggestion new solutions such as PowerApps, or other AI‑based tools.
  • Oversee data flows from Snowflake, SAP, Veeva CRM, and external sources.
  • Contribute to other projects centering forecasting and operational efficiency.

 

Market Insights, Data Governance & AI Analyst:

  • Support digital innovation and the adoption of AI.
  • Develop dashboards and market insights using Tableau and BI tools, with a focus on commercial data (payments, reports, statistics).
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across CRM, SAP, and external partner datasets.
  • Support data warehouse activities within Snowflake.
  • Analyse commercial KPIs and business trends to support strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with IT, Sales, Legal, Finance, and Marketing to define data governance guidelines and processes.

 

Requirements:

  • University degree (or ongoing studies) in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Interest in data automation, business intelligence, and AI.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with programming or digital tools (e.g., Python, RPA, machine learning).
  • Fluent in English and Italian (C1).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and positive team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
