Key Account Manager Livestock- VIC & TAS
The Position
Responsible for annual sales achievement of the BIAH Livestock portfolio to designated Strategic Key account customers by supporting and implementing strategies for disease prevention and planned campaigns. Leads the business relationship, communications and responsibility for objectives achievement with assigned Strategic Key account customers within a designated region.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Demonstrate high level of BIAH product knowledge.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communications skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be highly organized and proficient with time management and task prioritization skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to coordinate the activities of multiple level Boehringer Ingelheim functional areas at the customer level to help drive the attainment of account objectives.
- Understand and analyse industry and customer data to develop and offer high value, mutually profitable solutions to our customers.
- Develop, maintain, and regularly update the key account database including annual portfolio planning.
- Lead account planning reviews with the customer and with internal colleagues to meet or exceed mutual expectations.
- Completes all administrative responsibilities as directed by management.
- Manages Strategic Key account customer programs and expense budgets to maintain appropriate profitability.
- Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction ratings as measured via “time to time” survey assessments.
- Meets and exceeds customer objectives as outlined in the Customer Business plans.
- Meets and exceeds the assigned sales targets and portfolio growth expectations.
- Completes development and training assignments in a timely manner.
- Meets or exceed product knowledge standards and administrative duties as measured by direct observation and systems reporting.
- Meets operating expense budgets defined by the company.
Customer Relationship
- Planned calls with defined Strategic Key account customers to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Promote the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health product range using technical information, promotional material, and marketing campaigns to customers in an honest and ethical manner.
- Negotiate and gain customer commitment to product orders.
- Ensure all contracts and trading agreements with designated Strategic Key accounts are maintained and up to date.
- Attend to adverse events, enquiries and issues or ensure that they are attended to by appropriate persons.
- Record customer interactions using the current CRM system.
- Keep customer database up to date using the current CRM system.
- Engage with current and potential customers at conferences, trade fairs, symposiums, exhibitions, and other customer meetings.
- Build relationships and influence with all the product portfolio influencers (Wholesalers, Resellers, Veterinary clinics, swine accounts and their representatives) to maximise product referrals and promotion.
Requirements
- Business or Science degree with concentrations in Commerce, Veterinary, and Animal Science
- Minimum 3 years of relevant sales experience in the animal health industry.
- Positive approach to business.
- Strong understanding of priority management for customer focus and task organization
- Thorough knowledge of professional selling skills and processes
- High-level analytical ability, including data manipulation and management
- Proven track record in key account management
- In-depth understanding of the animal health industry and factors influencing corporate goals
- Ability to apply industry knowledge in planning and decision-making
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, monitor performance, and communicate electronically
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level or higher
- Experience using internal CRM systems
